Morning ~O) we have Vetty appt at 8 am for exam and possible enema today. Please send some vines and prayers for my little Mags. Last enema was really hard on her, and they all know and heard about it. They think it was her back bothering her with all the strain of the enema. Also she was "don't touch my tushie"!! I think I'll tell them not to worry, and I can clean her up at home myself if she gets too upset. I'm a little nervous hoping it isn't some kind of blockage. Think positive, okay Bean!! :? Mags is eating, maybe not as much as usual. That could be why her numbers are lower. She's on such a small dose, and I still have not gotten a refill on my vial. I'm hoping for some reimbursement from my last VPI claim soon.

Have a nice day. Hot and tropical for us today. I'll keep everyone posted on Mags.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144 Vet appt.

Tons of prayers coming your way...I'll be at work, but watching for updates.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144 Vet appt.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Not quite a dip in the Green Lagoon but almost with meter variance. :-D

Thanks Amy and Melissa for the vines and prayers for Mags. She just had some Paw Lickins fuds. She loves the gravy and leaves most of the shreds, but good she's eating.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Yup....eating and being hungry is excellent. Soooo close, Mags...but Trix will hang on the shore to be with her BFF!

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Morning Ann,
Sending all the good vetty vines in the world and lots of prayers for sweet Maggie today. And some for you also. It's almost as hard on the beans as the kitties. I hope all is gentle and doesn't bother her today. (((((Ann and Maggie))))
Take good care.

Don't you worry girl, we'll be right there with KTSS as soon as you get home. Paw Prints made Tuna Pizza, we'll bring some for you. xoxo ollie

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Good morning, ((Ann)), I'm still hoping for Maggie to avoid the vetty appt. this morning.
I'll be thinking about her, and looking for updates.
All fingers and paws crossed that if she does have an enema, it's easier on your sweet girl than last time.
Hugs to you both!

(Good luck with your car repair, too.)

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Thinking of you guys today and hoping the vetty appt goes well! Paws crossed. Have a great day and let me know how it goes.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O)

Wishing Maggie the best at the vetty. I do so hope all goes well. Hopefully no enema, as I know how hard it was on her last time. Maybe that was just a onetime thing, and this one will be better, if they feel she needs one. We will hope for no blockage too - I know you are worried. I thinks sometimes we worry more than the kitties do. Hugs to you, and I hope all goes well. :-D

Good that Maggie is eating. Mannie always loved that sauce too, that went first before the shreds. ;-) Keep on showing down on teh fuds Maggie.

Have a good one today Ann.

Auntie Ann - on my way - to go mugs coming! ~~ Elsa, lil BIT, kitteh barista

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Hi Ann. You're probably on your way to the vet as I post this. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you and Maggie. Hopefully, if an enema is necessary, it won't be as bothersome to Maggie as the last one. We have our fingers crossed that the vet will be able to come up with a treatment plan that works for Maggie.

Have a great day Ann. Watching for your update.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Detective Poo here, checking on the Mags. Sending my very best poo and enema vines. I hope all goes smoothly. Calming vines for the bean, too. (((Ann)))
Liz

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet appt.

Hi guys .. of course keeping you guys in our thoughts today .. hoping for a nice easy vetty visit, one that isn't too hard on either of you!

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet semi-report

Still sending poo vines and positive thoughts for Maggie (and you, Ann). IF she has to have an enema, I hope it goes better than the last. Scritches to that sweet girl and ((hugs)) to you.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet semi-report

I'm back temporarily, but Mags had to stay a while. Thanks so much for all the visits and good wishes and vines and prayers for Mags. Amy, Mary, Josie, Michelle & Scrabble, Michelle & Mannie (GA), John, Detective Poo, Liz, and Devon.

The Vet did an oral exam and she said, yes, Mags needs an enema. I mentioned the pain she had last time, and just as we were talking, Maggie's Vet Tech came in and said she couldn't get a temperature, as it was too painful even sticking the thermometer in her back end. She may need to give her something for pain even though it may have constipating side effect just to be able to treat her today. She said definitely not Bupe, although all opiates constipate. I'm waiting on a call when Mags has success with the enema. Stay tuned.

On the car and that darn panel light, I'll drop the car off after I get Mags home. They're working around Maggie's schedule. :-D I ran it over there yesterday and the scanner said a vapor leak. I can drive it, but it's something that definitely needs fixed.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet semi-report

Thank you for the update....poor sweetie. Do they still think the pain is related to her back? Or is it a side effect of being backed up? Tons of prayers still coming....

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet semi-report

Paws crossed that the enema goes well and Maggie can handle the pain meds w/out a problem. Poor Mags, feel better soon sweetie.

KTSS is all ready for a Platinum Spa Package for Miss Maggie. Ummmm, we brought extra tuna pizzas so there will be plenty for Maggie. Waiting is hungry work.! --- Tess

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet semi-report

Hi Amy, it seems to be related to her back. I mentioned Adequan shots to the Vet, and she said Mags may need something fo the pain in her spine. Lately she hasn't been limping, so maybe the Dasequin is helping.

Thanks Melissa for the vines. I know, she seemed so scared today. We had a new Vet Tech, and he was so gentle with her, but her eyes were so wide and worried looking.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet Update

 poor baby .. give her lots and lots of lubs and kisses from us when she gets home!

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet Update

Oh Ann, I was so hoping to find good news here. Like Mags had a nice poo, and was napping comfortably.
I have to go out, but will be anxious to read her condo for update, when I get back.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet Update

Thanks Ann & Tess for the Platinum Spa Package KTSS and tuna pizzas. I didn't see you up ther earlier. Mags will love it, pizza her fav.

Thanks Devon and and Barb & Checkers and I will give her the scritches and kisses. It sometimes takes a while for th enema to work its magic.

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Vet Update

Poo patrol is sending visions of movement to Mags. Here's a picture to help Mags visualizes the chocolate falls we have here in Northern Arizona for enema vines.

Poor baby on the back pain, it is so hard on us beans when our kitties are not feeling well. :YMHUG:

Re: 7/9 Maggie AMPS 144; +3 104 Update from Vet on Mags

Liz, love the visions of movement, chocolate, huh! :-D
I fell asleep earlier logged on. When I woke up, I thought it was morning and time to t/s/f!

I just had a call from the Vet on an update for Mags. She finally did poo, enema success, and it was mostly really soft again. They did X-rays, and it seems there's still a loop of poo (I think those were her words), so they want to keep Mags a couple more hours and watch her and do a re-X-ray making sure she's cleaned out. At first teh Vet thought it was a mass,(heart thumping) but another side showed it was some poo.
This Vet says it seems the Miralax is working as the poo is soft, but the colon isn't contracting as it should be, her motility problems. So the plan is a higher dose of Cisapride to help the colon contract. She can order the Cisapride in a higher concentration also. An increase of fluids which I started, but she'll discuss in more detail when I pick Mags up. I forgot to ask what pain medication they gave her, but I'll learn all that when I pick Mags up.
Will discuss he binder, too. Hope I remembered everything.

Hooray for poo round one!!!! Huge, huge "phew" on the x-rays. Write stuff down you want to ask...I'm usually so overwhelmed and worried that I always, always forget the questions I have until it's too late. Are they going to do a tushy trim while she's on the pain meds, too? I can't wait till she's home and being pampered by her Mama and the KTSS...so I can only imagine how YOU feel, Ann! I think I'll raise a glass and toast to Maggie's poo tonight    !!!

Hi Ann, hope they can give her something to make her poo keep moving along. I hope she is not in too much pain. Enemas are so hard on them. They feel so violated as we would too. Come on home soon Mags(((Ann)))

Hey Ann-

Just tossing another idea out there that maybe you could mention/talk to the vetty about. I'm still thinking about that BB that they found a while ago. I think I mentioned before to ask if it had shifted...here's why I'm thinking about it. I have a friend who recently had a lipoma removed from her spine. The lipoma was pressing on a nerve, and some of the problems it was causing was lower back pain, but more of what's sticking in my mind is that it caused both bowel and bladder problems (she actually had to catheterize herself before she had the lipoma removed because she was unable to urinate on her own). So....it's a longshot, but maybe that BB has shifted, is pressing on a nerve that is causing her the back pain and the poo issues????? Just something to think about, since things have changed recently with Mags' back pain and poo issues....I could be way off base....

Sending tons of poo vines for Maggie and no pain vines. Amy has an excellent idea/question. I really hope Mags comes home feeling much better and not in more pain like last time.

I'm glad the new vet tech is gentle. Also sending "fix that car" vines to your mechanics

KTSS on the way and maybe Gracie needs to employ some of her derrière massage techniques on Mags?

Hi, I'm still waiting on a call to pick up Mags and can't wait to get her home. Maybe I can take the car in early tomorrow morning. I hate to bring her home and rush out again. Car shop will give me a ride home.
Thanks for the visits Amy, Sienne, Doreen.
Amy, thanks so much for your thoughts. That's a good question for me to bring up to the Vet since she just did X-rays today. She said she would show me the X-rays. I was just writing some questions for her and will take a little notebook with me. Wow with your friend and the lipoma. On the pain med, it was just something for today to get Mags thru the enema, but she said she would research and see if there's a pain med Mags could tolerate with side effects of most causing more constipation

I'm glad Maggie had a successful enema. I hope the change in the cisapride helps keep her form having to have one again. I hope it doesn't take too long to get your car fixed.

Thanks Carla, it heped that this Vet has a kitty with samme issues as Mags, and her kitty is on a much higher dose Cisapride than Mags.

Thanks Marje for all the Maggie vines, and car vines, too. Now what is this on the derrière massage techniques, sounds interesting. :-D
I hope they can offer something for pain as that may also be part of her problem with cats hiding it so well.

I just wanted to add that removing the lipoma did correct my friends issues!

I'm glad to know that your vet's kitty has the same issues and Mags, and that a higher dose works for that kitty. I think it really helps that the vetty has GENUINE first-hand experience like that!

Hi, Ann, I couldn't wait to get home to check for updates... You guys have been on my mind. I'm so glad to hear the enema helped clear her out, and I hope they can clear out the rest. Poor sweetie. Hoping that the recovery is much easier on her. (((hugs)))

Hi Ann,

Hope they were able to get Maggie to pass everything. She will be so much happier to be in her own home/bed. Lucky to have a vet that knows your problems personally. And I love to hear about a tender vet tech, but the scared look in her eyes, broke my heart. Soon she will be back where she belongs!

Thinking of you and Maggie.

Hi Ann,
I'm sorry to hear Maggie had to have another emena, but glad her stubborn poo is coming out....
I hope all will be out, and she'll come home happy.

Thanks for the vines and visits, Tena, Amy, Jane and Josie, and Mariko, too, just caught your post, thanks.

I just had another call from the Vet, and they got the little loop of poo out, so she's completely clean. It seemed like forever, so i was worried they found something. They did the sani cut; I guess she was a bit upset and the Vet says she can't blame her. She asked if I could come in at 5 pm, and she could spend more time going over everything, as she has some changes with the fluids, meds and some food suggestions. So just an update as I'll be home later than I thought. It turned out to be an all day spa for Mags. I'll post when we're finally home.

Glad the day is closing and you can bring your baby home. Hope she gets back to feeling like her old self quickly.

Whew! Glad that poo is done and gone! Been crossing paws here hoping she'll be home soon. Nice that she got the sani-cut too. I hope the revised program of meds, fluids and food is all manageable. Looks like PS has shifted a bit today. :?

Detective Poo checking on Maggie again. Yahoo for poo! :-D I'm sure she will feel so much better. Sounds like the vet will have some good suggestions too. That was Anne that posted the picture of the chocolate falls. :-D
Liz

Awww Poor Mags. I hope you're coming home with good answers about her motility issues, Ann. I really hope the extra cisapride does the trick for her.
Now you've got me concerned about Checks, taking bupe every day. Unless he uses lb in the room with me, I can't be sure whose poopies is whose, with 3 cats.

I'm glad she's all cleaned out and tidied up too.
She and you will both be happy when she's home in your loving care

wow, what a day for you, and for Mags. I too will hope that the meds changes etc will help her, I believe it will. Hugs to all there, and many many scritches for Maggie. Been thinking of you guys today.

Hi Ann & Maggie,

Maggie, we are so proud of you for enduring a whole day at the vettybean's. Ann, I do so hope that the modifications in medications, etc. will help your girl. Sorry I didn't get to your condo earlier, but we were out all day. Sending a beautiful bouquet of healing vines to Maggie, and Rusty says that he will be along with the KTSS and that they will get all the vetty smell off.

Lots of hugs to you and scritches to your brave girl. Thinking good thoughts that Mags will be feeling so much better soon,

Ella & Rusty

ohmygod_smile on the car problem. Hope they can fix it!

Good news on the poo report, I hope the new meds schedule will keep things working right! Waiting to hear what the vet has to say tonight.

Hi there!

I hope Mag's little tush is feeling better :-D and that momma bean is feeling relieved for the poo x2. Hang in there--you're such a good mommy to Maggie.

Hi Ann,

poor Mags... Sending tons of feel good vines to her. I'm glad that she got cleaned out though. I hope that the change with meds and fluids and possibly food will help a lot. Hugs to both of you,

Kathie

Hi Ann. So glad to read that they got that final loop of poo out. Maggie must feel a lot better with all that gone. I hope the new and increased meds get her colon working the way it's suppose to. You had a busy day and deserve an adult beverage.

Have a great evening Ann.

We are home, what a day!
Thanks for all the visits, Tara, Wendy, Liz. Anne, thanks for the chocolate falls, Barb, Michelle, Ella, Ann & Tess, Kat, Kathie, John, hope I didn't miss everyone. Mags is all cleaned out. They took X-rays making sure that last loop of poo was just that and cleaned out. Mags got a sani cut, so glad as it will be so much easier to help keep her clean.
Amy, I asked about the BB shot, and she says it isn't pressing on a nerve and not affecting her back. It's not lodged in the spine.
Some changes in Maggie's med and one new one added. She had all the notes and instructions typed up for me. I'll go over it more tomorrow.
Mags is so happy to be home. She went right for the water bowl and then threw up two times, just looked like water. I just gave her some Wellness., and she's eating fine. I'm so late with her shot though that I think I'll just skip it and get back on track tomorrow. I have to poke her and give fluids. John, thanks, I think I'll have that adult beverage. Thanks again everyone for the KTSS, bouquet of flowers.

Awww....I'm sure the stress and all of today's activities have left her tummy feeling a bit jostled. Skipping tonight makes sense. I know we're all happy Mags is back home where she belongs, so I'm sure both of you are beyond ecstatic. And, I'm very glad to hear the BB isn't an issue, and that you've got a vet with good, first-hand experience with megacolon.

Enjoy that beverage...you certainly deserve it!
