I haven't popped in since the SRT, nice to see his numbers have dropped a bit though. Come on down more pepper!!

Hi everyone. Thanks for popping in. I'll be raising his dose tomorrow, I guess. Is there something about the SRT that causes a cat to not need so much insulin for a week or so afterward, then need to go back up in dose again? Does the radiation stun the tumor and knock it unconscious, but then after a week it wakes up fightin' mad???

We just went down after SRT. Leo (Tracy) and Grayson (Lu-Ann) kept on going up after SRT and then a few months later started down. Leo is now down to around 5 units. I think Punkin went down within a couple weeks too and then bobbled around but never got as high as he was before SRT. EAID (each acrocat is different). Radiation neuters the tumor cells so they can't reproduce and they eventually die. Depending on where they are in the life cycle, you'll see different results.
