I think he found something on the floor last night but regardless - I increased to 0.375U. With the appy still iffy I don't want to take him up too much.

I think I have to stop the AB. He got 7 days but he now has pudding poo and he threw up today. He has been on Cerenia 1x/day and Ondan 2x/day. Been giving Mirtz every evening to get him to eat but if it is getting him to eat but making him sick that isn't good either. I will send off an email to the vet tomorrow.
 
I've given a different brand of that before. I divided one capsule into three little capsules. It cleared up Furball's diarrhea in a couple of days when she was on an AB. I gave one of the little capsules twice a day. I've also used Florastor the same way.

Thank you. The pudding poo just started today. He had a normal poo with a little loose poo at the very end and then had two very pudding poo spots. I will give him some tomorrow if it continues. He is just miserable on the AB. :(

What size capsules do you give? I haven't been able to give the MMR with the PS meals either because of the meds and my schedule so that may be part of it too. Just not enough time in the day to get everything done. Do the ProB help with tummy upset also?

Tons of hugs and prayers to you and Gizmo, Lizzie :bighug::bighug::bighug: Praying for diarrhea to stop once probiotic is started . Extra scritches to Gizmo from us too . BTW , I’ve also syringed ( if won’t eat) pumpkin for loose stools too.

Thanks Beth. Poor boy has had so much crammed down his throat this past week I can't do much more. :(

After all I have given him over the past couple of years this round of AB has been the worst. And he has been on it before too. But now he hides from me after I give it and he never hides. Breaks my heart.
 
Oh Lizzie, I sure hope that the vet can give another AB easier on his GI tract. I have only used Florastor along with SEB to stop diarrhea and have had great results with both of those. With the florator, it was 250 mgs and the directions for therapeutic dose is 1/2 capsule twice a day ( it went right into his food undetected) and then when the diarrhea stops give 3 more day at a maintenance dose of 1/4 capsule twice a day. The MMR should be the same as the SEB for the inflammation.

Maybe get the meds in the AM feeding and save a little of his food for an hour later to get the MMR into him. I know it's hard to juggle times and spacing.

Asia has previously had a lot of GI issues with antibiotics, but hasn't this go round, probably because of this. I don't pill her, I sprinkle a bit on each meal and use up the whole capsule in a day (the capsules are big, bigger than size 0 gelcap, maybe 00? I don't think it's specifically to stop diarrhea like the one you are using, but has prevented it. The good thing is, doesn't taste like anything so it's easy to sneak in to food.
