? Why would a curve not...actually curve?

I'm still working on adjusting dose of vetsulin and did a curve last night. The numbers all stayed about the same. Shouldn't it be dipping no matter the dose?

I’m very sorry, Allison, that we didn’t see your post. We are a little short handed right now as some of our experienced members have had to step away for a shot time due to family issues.

The BG won’t dip if the dose is not getting close to what he needs. However, we have to know how low the dose is taking the kitty before we arbitrary raise the dose. I would urge you to get a test every single time before you shoot insulin or you are putting Rocky at risk hypoglycemia. I see you work the night shift but any tests you can get before you leave for work will help fill in the pieces of the puzzle on his spreadsheet so we can help you get to a better dose.

Thanks for the response, I know people have been busy with real life lately :) I know I have slipped on testing but I'll get back in the habit. He's been on 2.5 units for about 10 days now so I plan to do a curve tonight. Maybe it will actually look like a curve this time!

That would be great. I’ll check back tonight. Feel free to tag me whenever you have a question.

I looked back last night and saw you did more testing last night (remember a curve is every 2 hours throughout the cycle) and then raised the dose to 3u today. Any additional data you can is helpful. In one week, you’ll need to do a real curve and then see where he is. Please tag me if you have any questions.
