Ruby's been on a steady diet of MC today. She dropped a bit from AMPS, and DBF had a busy day working so he couldn't test and left her a lot of MC to munch on. DBF forgot to do a before bed test last night, but tonight Ruby was apparently pacing around the apartment and bellowing for more food so he has tested her twice tonight. He's leaving her lots of raw and MC to eat overnight to keep her up.

Been catching glimpses of the cats on the webcam and trying to talk to them through the camera which seems to confuse them to no end. :) Won't be home for another 4 days and I miss them loads.

Hope everyone has had a great day! :bighug:

By the way, Ruby's hips have been clicking a lot when she walks, so I got some Dasuquin sprinkle capsules to add to food. Anyone have any issues with cats not liking the taste? I'm sure she'd love the chews but I'm worried about carbs.

Hi Katherine, what nice greens today, I'm sorry to hear about the clicking in her hips.
I hope some members will see your question and help you out
I hope the next 4 days go by fast for you, they must be wondering where your voice is coming from. Have a good day tomorrow :bighug::bighug::bighug:

A search for Dasuqin here didn't yield very many results. Have you looked into Adequan shots?
Not yet. Ruby’s list of ailments is so long that I have never actually brought her arthritis up to any of her vets. She spends a lot of time stretching after she gets up from a long nap and sounds seem louder in our new apartment so the clicks from her joints when she walks are much more obvious to me now. I was adding krill oil to her food for a while and then she stopped liking the taste. I will ask about Adequan. Thank you, Bhooma!

Adequan has been a lifesaver for Tina. It took the third vet at my clinic to give it to us. After one year, she is still moving quiet well. It has been successfully used in cats for over ten years, but still not commonly offered for cats since it is labeled for dogs (and horses). Metacam (NSAID) was the only other thing that helped before; no more of that for Tina.
If Ruby has arthritis in her hips, that can effect ease of pooping. Neither of our kitties need more trouble in that department. Kisses to Ruby and Olive too!
I love that Adequan is a disease modifying drug. It costs maybe 120 but lasts over a year!

Hi Katherine, hope the trip is going well. I can imagine how much you’re missing the girls. :( I put the Dasuquin powder on Dolly’s food but she wouldn’t eat it. Dolly had a course of 8 injections of Adequan but unfortunately her problems went way beyond arthritis. I have heard success stories with it on the forum. Ruby’s numbers look great. She seems to be a fan of going green under Frank’s watch :p Hope the trip is a big success!! Take care of yourself. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
