This morning I find that the calipers were set for 2 units and not 3 units, and the insulin pen was half full with air. :banghead: My DBF/cat sitter extraordinaire while I was away was giving Ruby way less insulin than she needed, if any. Won't complain to him about it because he did his best with her. Sigh. It will just take us some time to get back to those blues and greens again. Glad it wasn't because she has some other health thing going on making her numbers high.

Hope everyone has a nice Monday! :bighug:

Hi Katherine, in some respects you must feel relieved to know why Ruby was in yellow land. I’m sure you will get her back on track pretty quickly. It’s sounds like the kind of mistake Rob would make. Men ( many) are just not as detailed or careful. That’s a lot of missing insulin. I’m surprised she didn’t drop more this morning. Good luck. Have a nice day. Hope all else is well with Ruby and Olive. Hugs

DBF insists the calipers were correct last night and must have moved somehow between then and this morning. He measures to the 3 unit line and then uses the calipers to confirm. However, there was a lot of air in the pen and he says he definitely got any bubbles out of the syringe. Who knows what is going on. I did have my eyes on Ruby when she pooped a few moments ago--small and hard ones since the coconut was introduced versus the soft, enormous ones she produced when on Lactulose. I don't know what is better for her. So maybe she will head downward from here. Crossing fingers and paws here.

I will keep my fingers crossed. I hope you figure out the best poop solution for Ruby. Somewhere in the middle would be nice :p. Have a nice evening the four of you. :):):cat::cat:

Hi Katherine! I’m glad you are home safely. I was just looking at Ruby’s spreadsheet. I can’t tell when you left town, but it looks like things went yellow a couple or three days ago. Ruby has done pretty well on a reduced dose of insulin- considering the pred as well! You will get her back on track, perhaps sooner than you think. :)
