Well another sleepless night with lower numbers. And back to back very active cycles.

Decided to give a reduction this morning (not technically earned) to see how she does since I’ve adjusted the caliper measuring recently. I’ve been getting no sleep at all with feeding her hourly (and sometimes more) to keep her coasting and using 11% and 9.25% most of the night and through the days when she’s in a very active cycle.
I’d rather just be feeding 6% carbs mostly and not feeding all night long either, requiring me to be awake all night.
We shall see what Happens. I’m exhausted:banghead:

This morning, I actually overslept. I must’ve turned the alarm off and I woke up when I was supposed to be giving her shot so she was actually delayed by about 15 minutes when it was all said and done. (I have no idea how I even got all that together so quickly, but I can’t function like that).

I have two appointments out of the house, one on Monday one on Tuesday, and I need her to be slightly more stable so I can leave.

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday with safe surfing to all the kitties :cat:

Good morning Staci.
Oh boy, Ivy's really pushing . Happy to see her do well but so sorry that you haven't been able to rest!
Good luck with the reduction. Hope that gives you a good balance of nice cycles with you in your own bed fast sleeping:)
It's one of those things (among many, many, many) frustrating things about FD. But we can't get ourselves sick or down - we somehow have to find a fine line to take care of ourselves without sacrificing the care of our babies. This is definitely one of the toughest things I've faced in my simple life o_O

Wishing you a little easier, little more relaxing day for you, Staci :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Kit, it really is the most difficult thing to find the balance. We want the best for them but as you said, we can’t get sick.

The reality is if I get sick it’s really a problem since I’m the soul caregiver and she won’t let anyone else touch her to do any procedures. I do everything from feeding to doctors to research to making her food, it’s just a lot.

I’m hoping the slight reduction to 4.25 units won’t really harm her, but, we’ll see.
I really appreciate your kind words and support. It’s really helpful to my mental stability, so thank you for always being there for me:kiss:
Wishing you a calm and relaxing day also:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Morning Staci , I'm glad you took the reduction, you need a break.
I can't even imagine how exhausted you are. We don't need you to get sick, we worry and care about you ♥
See how the reduction goes ,that's all you can do.
I hope today you can get some well deserved rest.:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Diane. I really appreciate your sweet support:kiss:

I’m just at a point where I wasn’t sure what else to do. As we know, we can always go back up again, but for the moment it seemed like the right thing to do to keep her safe and me as well, even if momentary.

I couldn’t believe when I overslept this morning. I’ve never done that before. I don’t even remember the alarm going off.
I must’ve only been asleep for a few minutes, maybe a half hour, because before that, she puked up a furry hairball that I cleaned up, and that was somewhere around 4:30 in the morning;)
I hope you and Tyler have a relaxing day :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I've had it happen a few times in the last few months. Not the preshot (although for the last week I've had to convince myself to get up or I will fall back asleep. I've had to give myself a pretty stern talking to, because part of my brain just goes, but I don't waaaaannnnnnna) but definitely important early meals. That lack of sleep is rough. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I no exactly what you mean Alicia. There have been times where the alarm goes off and I literally have to talk very sternly to myself to get my butt up now because I know I’ll fall back asleep. On the rare occasion, I’m actually in bed, DH will say to me “hey get up, That’s your alarm” and I don’t even hear it. It’s getting worse as time goes on. It didn’t used to be a problem, but the exhaustion is becoming more and more a problem.

I can only assume that’s what happened or it’s possible I picked up my phone at the exact moment, the alarm was going off look at her Libre app.
I know that gesture of unlocking the phone can override the alarm, so it could’ve been that.

You wouldn’t have believed the speed that I ran up the steps and ran around the kitchen. My brain was not even functioning.
I was trying to talk to myself to breathe to try to “think clearly” about what I was doing. It was not good at all :banghead::banghead:
Not the best start to the day. But sending you and Kit Cat very good vibes for a calm Sunday:bighug::kiss::bighug:

Oh Staci!!! I am so sorry this is so exhausting and I am glad that you take care of yourself too! I always wondered how you manage so many nights without sleep. You are such a dedicated mom to Ivy. But I know from many caretakers how important it is to take care of yourself. I'm quite new to this but I can not imagine, a reduction can do harm with her great numbers. And you can always go back. Hope the next night will be better and you get some much needed sleep! I send you big, big hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, thank you so much for your kind support. You’re so sweet. Yes, it’s been very exhausting lately and I hit the wall and needed to change something when I was in tears last night. Just very tired.
Hoping tonight a little rest will come. Badly needed.
I just hope it won’t set Ivy back.

I hope you had a relaxing day and will have a quiet night. Sending you and Binie hugs :bighug::bighug::cat:

You make me remember something my vet said to me some weeks ago. I couldn't help myself and broke out in tears when I was there, because I was simply exhausted and overwhelmed. She said to me, that everything I do for myself, helps Binie as well, because we are so close and she will be influenced by my mood. I truly believe it will help Ivy on a deep level, if you are better rested and relaxed again. All the best and a relaxed night Staci!

Thank you for sharing that important information with me Heike :bighug::kiss:

Oh Staci, this makes me so sad that you were in tears. I see Ivy is mostly in all blues so far, I hope you were able to take a nap. I'm saying a prayer that tonight she will stay in blue so you can get to bed and get some sleep :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:
Thank you, Diane. I appreciate your caring so much.
It’s just my exhaustion talking. I think it will help to have a little less juice for a bit so I can gain some strength :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Staci!
Such beautiful cycles she's having but when she's busy she's keeping you busy too. Hopefully once she drains her depot, you will get a bit of a break. I'm glad you decided to go with the reduction as you need to take care of yourself. It's so important, but we forget oh so easily.
You're doing a wonderful job, as always, and you're such a dedicated mama to Ivy. And you have us here for all the support and love ❤️ you may need.

Hoping you'll be able to catch at least a bit of sleep tonight. :cat::bighug::cat::bighug:

Thank you for your very sweet support, Karolina. It means more than I can tell you. I greatly appreciate your caring support and words ❤️

As you said, I hope as the depot drains, it will be a bit easier to handle. Just need a minor tweak. It’s so important that we are able to handle it all. (I forget to care for myself when I get laser focused on her needs. But then I can feel I am unstable and need to make a minor change).

I hope all is well with you and your sweet baby boys :bighug::bighug::bighug:
