Good morning,
A yellow start to today. Yesterday was an am cycle of lows in green (confirmed on a handheld meter) then she fried her Libre sensor from being in lower green numbers for several hours (plus it was 11 days old, so at the end of its life cycle). :arghh:Sigh. She was extremely combative when I had to change the sensor (very unusual for her). :banghead:
Then she jumped to very high pink numbers until she came back down again around +2 in the pm cycle.
Hoping she has a more moderate cycle and comes back down to nice blue and green today.

I need to cut her nails today once I know she’s calm enough. (Self protection).

I think Mikan and Ivy are conspiring again!
Sorry to hear about the sensor fiasco. I know what you mean when the kitty gets unusually feisty.
Mikan may protest sometimes but it's usually lame crying like "I really don't want it" whiny thing. There were a few times though that she fought back and she is surprisingly strong for a petite girl :rolleyes: I don't know what gets into their system to make them so difficult :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi Kit, you’re lucky Mikan only whines! I’d take that any day.
Ivy full out goes into full defense mode. All nails and teeth.
I had to get my son to help me yesterday, which is rare (once he moves out, I’m in big trouble as he’s my backup with assistance!)
He was able to just hold her still while I did the thing. :blackeye:

Ivy just gets so wound up and there’s no calming her down. And sometimes it can’t wait many hours until she resets (like with an insulin shot). :banghead:
Looks like we are off to the races and she’s coming down at a good clip today.
Bracing for the day now.

A barely yellow start this AM. Hopefully sun = beach day. Just slow and steady Ivy. We don't want to give mama heart palpitations.

Good luck with the operation but "nail salon". I also have to trim my boys' nails. Usually I make it into a "spa" day for them: brushing, towel treatment, nails. Sometimes they struggle and try to wiggle out of my hold. I'm very lucky they're so calm and non-violent.

We wish you a beautiful, calm day today.

We do need good luck for the mani pedi operation "spa day" for Miss Terror. Waiting for her to settle down so I don't need to poke her and then terrorize her with those "awful" nail clippers:mad:

I've learned that I should only try to do 1 thing a day (if possible) to her or it upsets the whole balance of her personality and demeanor for that day.
She's soooo complicated. Never been a "go with the flow" cat:rolleyes:

I had another sweet cat, Mau, who was the easiest going kitty. I would take her for accupuncture and she would just sit on the towel at the vet and not even blink. I gave her fluids (CKD kitty) and even enemas when she was constipated....She never fought anything or showed teeth or nails. Sigh.

This one is my payback from the universe for that very easy kitty I guess :(

I hope she will give you some nice dark greens .
Tyler is pretty mellow when I cut his nails, but sometimes when I have about 4 more to go he starts getting wild. So I just stop.
Then as I walk away he will attack my ankles ,even if I start to run away he follows me . .
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day to try and trim her nails .

Hi Diane, we had a successful mani/pedi today (with lots of hissing and growling). I was prepared with a very heavy sweatshirt to protect my arms, perfect attire for a 100 degree day and gym/workout fingerless leather gloves DH gifted me for protection.
Are you getting the picture of how crazy I must look?? :p

Pmps 53 on Libre. A very green Libre AM cycle today once she broke that bounce. Fed a little higher 9.25% meal tonight to hope she won’t drop too low to start the cycle with fresh insulin on board.
Very glad I didn’t give an increase yesterday morning ;)
Will see how this cycle goes:facepalm:
 
When I volunteered at the local shelter for monthly toe nail trimming duty, I invested in a pair of rose thorn gloves. Good protection, including for my fingers!

Good luck with tonight, looks like a bounce breaking cycle.

Great idea. I’ll have to check that out, Wendy. And I’ll need some luck tonight. Guess I shot low so she’s staying low

I’ve had to jump up on my kitchen island years ago she was being such a bad attack cat (that’s when we hired a behaviorist to come for a visit).
And my “manicurist” outfit is just lovely (not).
