Good morning :)

A much better start for today. We all went to sleep completely exhausted last night after +4 and slept through the night. DH helped Fistuk go pee during the night but that was it.

This morning he was all cheery, purring and ready to eat. I gave him a bite at +11 and he ate willingly by himself from the plate.

But in breakfast though he waited eagerly for food in the kitchen he was not able to eat. I syringe fed him and this time he was cooperating. He shows interest in the food but unable to take it in without syringe.

He ate the whole amount for breakfast! and got the full 2.5U dose.

I'll give another cerneia injection this evening get nausea under control. I read that Cerenia is processed by the liver and not kidney so that's good news.

He's very weak. Quite trippy on his feet but for the moment I'm relieved that he's eating.

Wishing all a happy Caturday :bighug:

Ohh poor fistuk I hope he returns soon to his normal state, that he starts eating and recovers soon ... the heat affects a lot here in Spain we are at more than 40 degrees. Sinver has lost 500 grams of weight, he eats but not what he was usually eating. I send you lots of hugs and encouragement and hope he gets better soon.:bighug::kiss:

Hi Xelo :)

Thank you for your encouragement and good wishes. Fistuk too lost 500g :/ He doesn't have much to lose from. I'll keep syringe feed him until he gains weight. I did that in the past and it works well because most of the time he really like syringe feeding and he eats more like that.
Sending you big hug and kisses to Sinver :bighug::bighug::kiss:

Oh I am sending prayers that Fistuk feels better really soon . He is such a sweet boy :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly, I’m so sorry Fistuk had such a difficult day yesterday. Poor baby. He’s so sweet.
I’m glad the vet was able to help and you were able to get back and take him to be seen.

You're doing such a wonderful job with his meticulous care.

I hope his symptoms calm down today and he’s feeling well enough to eat on his own and that nauseau and diarrhea are controlled.

Your photos from yesterday were amazing while on your hike. Just gorgeous scenery. Makes me want to visit and see the countryside. It looks so lush and green.

I send prayers for healing and calm for you and Fistuk. Big hugs to you :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Oh Shelly, I hope Fistuk gets better soon and starts eating on his own again! But it sounds like he is in good spirits besides being weak. I am sure you take so good care of him and hope you can rest after that stressful day as well! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Staci :)
At the moment it's' rather challenging. Each time I give him a bit of food he runs to the toilet. I can't even think about an escalation and hospitalisation
Paws crossed we'll get through it soon :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike :)
I'm not sure about the good spirit. He did show a small sign of his doolaly side earlier but he is quite retreating and tired.
I couldn't get much rest. Wanted to at least decompose in swimming in the lake but he keep running to the toilet and I'm alone tonight so I can't leave the house just yet and the sun is going down :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh, Shelly. I’m hoping he’s going to feel much better with the meds you are giving him. I know how worried you are.
I’m sending you prayers and positive energy. I hope he feels better tonight so you can all rest :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Staci. This means a lot to me.
I am worried! I don't know what to do with the salivating. He's obviously nauseous but how worried should I be about it?
I hope someone can answer soon:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Fistuk is still drooling.
He keeps on going to the toilet but just sits in or beside the box. He doesn't have diarrhoea anymore but obviously he's feeling very nauseous and uncomfortable.
He's communicating with me, so he's not apathetic and he's going to the toilet and back to his bed by himself.

The salivating started after I gave the SQ with the Cerenia injection inside it.

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear this . I’m praying so hard for Him :oops::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Shelly, I am so sorry Fistuk feels so unwell. After your update this morning I thought that he is on the mend. Sounds like you did anything one could do, to treat the symptoms. I hope it becomes better soon. I am so sorry you have to deal with this alone and I can imagine, how worried you are. I hope he gets better before you go to bed and you can rest. I send you many hugs! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I was so worried this evening. Only now the salivation is beginning to relax. That's about 5 hours!
I think the Ondasentron helped. It helped him last time.

He seem to finally relax a bit. I syringe fed him tiny bit more from the food with the slippery elm bark.

Paws crossed we can get through the night in sleeping.
I'm heading to bed now :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh Shelly, I hope you are all sleeping well now. I know you had quite a worrisome evening. Praying Fistuk is on the mend and tomorrow is a better day :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

1 mg of ondansetron is a pretty small dose. You can give 0.5-1.0 mg/kg of cat up to 4 times a day.

No clue on the salivation. There are many reasons for it, including overheating. A vet consult might answer the question.

Up to 4mg each time, so up to 16 mg per day. You can start with less times per day and work your way up if needed. Ondansetron doesn't last that long in the cat. Or start with 2 mg and work your way up.

Thanks, Wendy.
I gave him 1mg with his breakfast so I'll give him another 1mg and in 6 hours I'll give 2mg again.
The poor thing is sitting in the toilet box now after food. Salivating a bit again

That salivation would have scared me too. Seems like you know so well, what is helping him. And so good you managed to syringe feed him! You are such a skilled and good cat mum! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
