Good morning :)

Fistuk kept on salivating for about 5 hours after the SQ with Cerenia yesterday evening. He kept on going to the toilet wanting to let something out but most of the time it resulted in sitting in or by the box.

DH tells me he had a tiny diarrhoea patch during the night. I was so out of it that I heard nothing.

The thing is that Prince has the same diarrhoea as well so I suspect a bug rather than pancreatitis. And the vet too didn't suspect pancreatitis bout. Only that Prince deals with it with so much ease, as if nothing happened.

I gave them both slippery elm bark yesterday and today. It looks like it's helping stop the diarrhoea because Fistuk, at least up to now, doesn't have any and Prince had partial liquids stool and partial solid.

I'll keep giving Fistuk Ondansetron during the day today and will not give the Cerenia injection again. Yesterday morning he was so cheery and after the morning's S.B and the following doses he got worse again and after the Cerenia injection it was hell.

80ml SQ in the evening again.

If by tomorrow there's no real improvement I'll call the vet.

I syringe fed him today. Blended the food with water so it's really liquid and easy to draw into the syringe and drip into Fistuk's mouth. We managed 3/4 of a normal daily portion so he got the whole 2.5U.

Paws crossed Fistuk will start feeling better today and Prince will get through it completely

Wishing you all a wonderful Sunday:bighug:

UPDATE:
Called the vet's emergency line. She said that the salivation is probably nausea and what kicked it in could be the stress on the SQ yesterday. She thinks it's very unlikely it's from the Cerenia. She suggested to keep on with the Ondansetron and decide in the evening if I wanted to give the Cerenia injection.

It seems that slippery elm bark stopped the diarrhoea. He sat for almost an hour in the toilet box but he just had a normal pee. He's now finally relaxed. I'll keep on monitoring him and string feeding him throughout the day so he has enough food in him for the insulin shot.

Oh sweet Fisuuk. Im very relieved to read that he’s feeling somewhat better today, Shelly. I know you both went through hell last night. My heart is with you both.

His sweet little face in that picture above :(

I do hope it passes quickly for both of your boys and isn’t pancreatitis.
Sending you healing vibes and our best wishes for a healing and boring day ❤️❤️❤️

I would give anything for a boring day, Staci :(
I need to follow my little one to the toilet because he's so weak that after diarrhoea he just collapse into it if I'm not there to hold him.
He's just in such a nasty spot at the moment. I hope that throughout the day the slippery elm will work more wonders and that he will regain some strength
Thanks for your support and love :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly,

thank you for the update! I'm sorry you have through all this. To see Fistuks sad face on the toilet is really heart-breaking. :( So good to read he is finally relaxed. My vet said that in summertime they have to deal a lot with cats with diarrhea and that in the warm weather the bugs just transfer more easily. I hope he will start eating on his own again today and you can relax. It costs so much energy to worry. I send you all a big hug and healing thoughts! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly! I hope they are both recovering fast now. His face on that picture is so cute, poor little guy!
I keep you in my thoughts, hoping today will go very well.

Hi Heike:)
Thank you for your good words.
I'm trying not to worry but I can't. I tell myself there are many god signs such as the BG is going down and he allowed me to scratch his belly a couple of times but seeing him so weak and drooling I'm just afraid I'll miss something important that could have been treated if I took care of it sooner.
He's letting me feed him a bit. But it's not easy and only very little with the syringe.
He's been to toilet only one today so that's a good sign.
Paws crossed :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Cecile :)
It's almost painful to see how seamless it is for Prince in compare to Fistuk. Prince's still is turning a bit more structured but still loose. Fistuk at least hasn't been again to the toilet but it's very apparent he's suffering from nausea big time.
Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Fistuk is so lucky to have you :bighug: it’s so hard to see them suffer, I hope he feels better soon. Hopefully the Zofran will help him get over the nausea and back to eating.

Hi Shelly, please don't be hard on yourself. Cats are masters in hiding discomfort. I am sure and I can read in your reports, you take care so, so much. I hope he will be fine soon and sweet Prince too. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
