Hi everyone I came across this brand of food recently and noticed that its carb count looks to only be about 1.44%!
It’s probably not the best food around, but I have been seeing that most of the grocery stores have started carrying it and it’s price range is on the lower end (about .79-.99¢ per 3.5oz tray or $9.99-$12.99 per case of 12-3.5oz trays)?
So it might be useful in a pinch or when you find yourself in one of those situations where you realize you are out of cat food and the stuff you usually order hasn’t arrived yet.
Here is a picture of the package with my carb calculations written on it.

Hi TommysMomm, Welcome to the Forum, before my Corky was diagnosed, he lived on Temptation Treats, and Meu Mix dry food, little did I knew that this was one of the main reasons for his diabetes, because of the high content in High Carbs from 15-25%, many of us members use the Fancy Feast pates, they are USA made so we know that these foods do not have scraps or dead fish etc.. never gravies even in pates since they contain the highest % of carbs anywhere between 15-20%, if you want to make sure about the % in carbs, you can call the manufacturer and ask for the % of carbs in the different types of foods, also below you have a Food Chart link on all different name brand foods, the third column will have the % of carbs, the food our diabetic cats consume is crucial for their glucose numbers, cats do not digest carbs therefore their pancreas will continue damaging, You are in Nevada I am sure you can purchase by the can in supermarkets the Fancy Feast, if it's what you choose they are at the cost of $0.88 each or you can purchase the case from Chewy.com if convenient for you, they do sell only cases of 24, I hope the link and suggestion, can reassure you in food %'s you can also click on Corky's Spreadsheet (below in blue) scroll to the right in remarks you can see when and what and %'s of feeding schedule for him, believe me Carbs are the answer to keep glucose number low, for diagnosed diabetes, or to avoid the illness :bighug::cat::cat:

I use this calculator to determine the % on a dry matter basis (most useful in calculating carbs): https://scheyderweb.com/cats/catfood.html

plugging these in, it looks like both varieties are 8% carbs (not terrible). My main concern here would be the Wheat Flour as that can be an allergen, the Sodium Tripolyphosphate could indicate a high phosphorus level, which can be hard on kitty's kidneys, and there is no liver (which Dr. Lisa mentions is a highly nutritious organ, and she always recommends having some in kitty's diet). So, it's not terrible (most suggestions are less than 10%) but as Maria mentioned, there might be some slightly better alternatives out there :)

As per the Veterenian specialist expert these are the most efficient foods and most of the food by brand unless you decide on feedin him home food or raw food, then there will be the high expense of all the nutrient additive you need to replace from the can food I will tag an expert so you can get a most certain answer and advise :bighug::bighug::cat::cat:
