Spreadsheet is not up to date, sorry. I'm not able to keep up with it. Also not sure if the 911 tag is appropriate. I can remove it if it's not.
He's been getting mostly 400's for a few days with the occasional reading in the 300's (Relion glucometer). Usually his readings are in the 200's-300's (never in the 400's before this and never below 180.) This evening he suddenly dropped down to 120 (around 6:30). He may have eaten a smaller than usual breakfast (partner says he gave the remainder of the can thinking it was 2/3, but it might have actually been 1/3 left). We gave him 2/3 can of wet food and no insulin injection, it hasn't gone up and 4 hours later. Now it's down to 112 on the Relion glucometer. Partner tested on the iPet as well and it's reading 6.0 mmol/L. He's not showing any symptoms, but with the last reading being lower than the one before that and not being able to contact our vet at this time of night, we're not really sure what to do. We are fostering and his owner's vet friend sometimes gives advice, but she's already gone to bed.
He has been on 2u every twelve hours for a couple months now and we've never had this drastic a change in his sugar levels.
Update: tested again 10:48 PM - 6.1 mmol/L
Should we be giving him high carb food?
Update 2: Partner gave him a can of high carb food (Fancy Feast tuna feast in gravy) at 11 PM and went to bed. Not sure if that was right, but we decided to err on the side of raising his sugar. Not sure if it's safe for me to go to bed. I'm know the numbers aren't that low, but the way they shot up for a few days and then dropped has be worried that it could keep dropping.
Update 3: He is up to 8.0 mmol/L at 11:34 PM after the high-carb food. Can I safely assume it will stay at a safe level since it's going up? Any ideas what could be causing the weird fluctuations? Should we still give his morning dose?
