Good evening,

almost one week on 2 IU finished and we didn't see any blue numbers below 150. Instead we had a very high night last night and a flat pink day today. It is time for an increase to 2.25 IU tomorrow evening, right?

I hoped her bg would become better after the wounds on her breast started to heal again. Today I managed to take a closer look. After only one week the wounds seem to be closed (never 100 % sure if I really see everything in her armpit) and not even scabs on them anymore. I could touch it a bit and the tissue inside is still very knotty and hard, if I compare it with the other side. But she is almost not licking anymore and so it does not seem to bother her too much. Tomorrow evening I will have the zoom talk with this internal medicine vet. Maybe this brings some new ideas, what we are dealing with.

Besides the healing of the wounds she is also doing surprisingly well with this high blood sugar. Her appetite is really good and I am super glad, that I found wet food she even prefers over her dry. She drinks and pees too much but I think that is due to her high bg.

I really hope we see some blue numbers tonight. Usually that happens if she has a cycle where she goes down at the end of the cycle like today.

Thank you so much for your support! :bighug::bighug::bighug: Hope everyone has a relaxed day today! :cat:

Hi Heike, good luck with the increase. I hope it brings better bg for Binie. And a safe surf, too.

It’s good she has stopped licking and things seem to be healing. That’s great news.
Good luck tomorrow with the zoom call with the vet. I’ll be very interested to hear what they have to say.

And I’m glad to hear she’s enjoying her wet food instead of the dry. That’s all good stuff and it’s all due to your efforts.

I’m sure you’re right that the peeing is due to her high numbers and hoping that will reduce if you can bring her numbers down with a slightly increased dose of insulin. It’s finding that balance that is the challenge.

Wishing you both a calm and quiet night and I’m so glad to hear she’s feeling well. Hugs to you and Binie :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so, so much for your support Staci! Of course I will share an update over the zoom consultation tomorrow. I am not overly optimistic she finds the holy grail for us but we'll see. Hope you have a relaxed rest of the day with sweet Ivy! :bighug::kiss::bighug:
