Hi All hope you had a lovely Xmas. Amos is now on 6 weeks and 2days on Senvelgo … he’s doing well no ketones in his urine he’s very lively playing with his brothers and his fur has improved massively …still a bit greasy… and he’s a Maine Coon so has that grizzled coat also still has shaved patches all over him which are slowly growing back but a million miles better than when I got him out the hospital… he’s put a bit of weight back on too. 8.5kg to 8.8kg he needs a bit more on him he’s a over 9kg cat normally …he’s very big … I noticed his hind quarters the muscle is coming back and he’s zooming around everywhere.
Even though he’s doing well I still don’t think I’ll ever relax… he still has a huge appetite I’m assuming that’s the diabetes he’s quite hungry a lot of the time but as suggested I have been giving him smaller meals throughout the day in his new bowl which has cut down his vomiting after eating down quite a bit… still drinks a good amount of water too but not like at the beginning where he was permanently head down in his water bowl and being a Maine Coon obsessed with water he’s also gone back to playing with his water bowl which is lovely to see but also very annoying I’m always shouting to him drink with your mouth not your feet … he doesn’t care and happily flicks water everywhere… his personality has most definitely come back he’s engaged and wanting to cuddle and play which is amazing as he’s no spring chicken anymore coming up to 9yrs old soon… I hope he continues to go down this path it’s so lovely seeing him nearly back to his old self I missed him
