As predicted, the sensor was gone within moments of leaving him unsupervised. 2 minutes after injection, it was dead. My partner brought home a bunch of gauze and bandage tape just to be able to try something else immediately. We used some self-adhesive bandage wrap and that seemed to work really well at least in terms of staying snugly, etc. Unfortunately the location for the Libre that was already on didn't work for this (too high on his shoulder), so it was a lost cause. But we put it over this one, which is back down behind his elbow like the vet used to put it.

He definitely doesn't like it, but he seems significantly less bothered by it than the Thundershirt. He's not acting like he can't move. With the Thundershirt it seemed like he couldn't even curl into a circle to sleep but he managed last night with just this wrap behind his front legs. He ran upstairs happily for his treat, etc. He keeps licking at it and we'll see how long it takes before he bites through it, but at least so far it's not looking bad.

We ordered a bunch of options along the lines of (and including) what Staci was kind enough to recommend us the other day. Just a bunch of little tube tops/training bras that might be small enough to fit a cat lol Felt hilarious buying something for my male cat that was labeled as "sexy women's." Also got some Tegaderm patches to go underneath whichever option we go with, just for extra adhesive since it'll be being touched all the time.

Think that's it for now. *collapses* lol

Hi Brianna, the location looks good, that's the area I use for Ivy and it seems to be a good spot.

I use a small piece of soft cloth folded (to fit over the Libre) and UNDER the wrap/tube top or whatever, so if she tried to bite it off she would get the piece of cloth (around 4-6 inches or so. Your wrap would hold it in place to cover the sensor.

It is funny to order "sexy" tops for our cats, lol!
Hopefully something will be just right for Xander. You are in the discovery mode to figure all the pieces of the puzzle out.
And you will! Just takes time.

You're doing great, don't you just wish we could tell them we are helping them and to just chill out??:woot:
:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Brianna please tell Xander that I think he looks beautiful in his sexy new lingerie :D:D:joyful: And that he should KEEP IT ON!

I hope you find the right combination of things to solve the puzzle so you can both feel comfortable and get some rest! I feel like you're almost there!

Oh Xander is a real handful isn't he! Glad the bandage is working for now (crossing fingers he doesn't manage to get to the Libre underneath) and very much looking forward to seeing pics of the little guy in his 'sexy women's'! That actually made me laugh out loud :D

Oh he sure is! lol I'll be sure to post pictures of whatever he ends up in! Glad it made you laugh too, I thought it was pretty hilarious. :D

We got some gauze pads so maybe I can do that extra little square too, that's a good idea! I was trying to keep the hole uncovered since Abbott says to do that, but the wrap shifted and the hole we cut isn't over it anymore anyway. lol

I hope so! Thank you for all of your advice! I'm hoping this will finally be our breakthrough. And yes, I wish I could just tell him "Leave it alone, and you won't have to wear anything! I'm trying to help!" lol

Hahaha I'll let him know!! :D

Thank you so much! I hope so! It's been a long few months.

OMG “sexy women’s” item hahah. How funny! You gotta try it all I guess and you really are!

So glad to hear that you’re seeing some improvements with the new gauze approach. Looking forward to hearing how all the options go.

Safe surfing tonight :bighug:

lol We definitely are! He's gonna be so scandalous in his new outfit. :D

Thank you! Crossing my fingers that something finally works lol
