3/18 Sunny AMBG 162

@Holly and Sunny Bear
Hi Holly I'm just curious why you don't have anything filled in on the units cell for insulin . Are you giving any insulin :bighug::cat:
He's hasn't been on insulin since August of 23 when he went into remission. His numbers have been perfect since then with his monthly spot checks until last week when I noticed him being unusually grumpy. We were dog sitting and Sunny snuck some of the dogs high carb food and Sunny was stressed out by the dog being here. So we're hoping that over this next week now that the dog has gone home, that Sunny's bg will come down.

If not, it might be time for insulin again. I'm really really hoping to avoid it since I've forgotten the whole procedure and all the little nuances by now. And the vet is trying to talk me into using bexacat this next time if we end up needing it. She said there's more and more evidence that cats who've already been on insulin can use it safely if they're properly screened for ketones ahead of time. And she was not concerned about Sunny's kidney disease especially bc his latest bloodwork shows that his kidneys have improved over the last year. Makes me nervous though.

What do you think? Am I just delaying the inevitable? I feel like waiting a little longer to see if his morning bg's come down.

Hi Holly, I'm not experienced enough to give dosing advice but I will tag a few members to look at your spreadsheet and see if they think you should start insulin again

Hi ladies I was asking Holly why she wasn't giving any insulin to Sunny
