Weruva & digestive issues?

I switched my sugar baby & our 2 civvies from Nulo to Weruva (cats in the kitchen) about a month ago. We didn't switch as slowly as we should have, and so all 3 cats ended up with diarrhea. We thought after their systems adjusted it would get better.

Well, now it's a month later and all 3 still have extensive diarrhea. I'd say the 2 civvies have improved the tiniest bit, but my sugar baby (Rae) still is passing pretty much pure liquid. The smell is like a noxious gas: my husband and I can barely stand to be on the same floor of the house as the litter box after one of them uses it. It's been so bad for so long now that my husband can't take much more of the smell.

Has anyone had this experience? We switched from Nulo to Weruva because the weruva was higher in protein and lower in fat, but at this point we're considering going back to the nulo just to have some peace in our house again...
 
There might be something in the Weruva that just doesn't agree with your cats' tummies. Weruva is a good brand but if it doesn't agree with the tummy, no point in feeding it. I'd go back to Nulo and maybe add a probiotic.

I feed Weruva BFF PLAY pates to all my cats and they’re have no problems. Which kind/flavors are you feeding? I do not feed fish to my cats. I feed mostly Chicken Duck and Turkey Take a Chance.

We're feeding the Cats in the Kitchen line, it's got one plain chicken, a chicken and pumpkin, a fish medley, and a lamb. They seem to like the plain chicken the least, and Rae LOVES fish (always has) so I would hate to have to take that from her...

They never had any issues on the Nulo, so I'm thinking if we switch back, they won't need the probiotics. Honestly I'd rather switch foods again than have another thing to prep at mealtimes... (BG testing, insulin, and we have to puree the weruva because Rae doesn't have any of her molars left... It's a lot when both my husband and I work.)
 
If you have a kitty with no teeth then the BFF PLAY line is all pates. It’s a very smooth pate with quite a bit of liquid in it. It’s very hydrating. No food grinding is needed. I believe they have some flavors with fish. My cats like it. I have fed Nulo before. My cats liked it, but it was higher in phosphorus than I wanted to feed them But you can’t have your cats having GI problems all the time. I understand.

Visbiome is a great probiotic, but it’s expensive. I have two cats on it and would not be able to afford to do all my cats. Proviable DC is good, and less expensive. These probiotics are just sprinkled in and mixed into food.
 
Thank you both for the suggestions! Do either of you know if Chewy carries the BFF line? I see in your other post Diane that they have them at PetSmart, but we already have Chewy so that'd be nice.

I have a kitty who has no back teeth at all. I feed her a raw diet which I make myself and I cut it up into small pieces. I don't puree it. Its the same size as the food I feed my other cat who has all his teeth. She has no trouble with eating it.
 
Cat teeth aren't designed to chew. Their teeth are designed to rip and shear meat off bones and into smaller pieces which they then mostly swallow whole. Canned food is soft enough that most cats basically inhale the food down. Some of the chunkier varieties might need a bit of teeth action.
 
Yeah, the problem with her teeth is that when we didn't puree it, she ate way too fast and threw up her entire meal. Not sure why, but something about it being chunky makes her eat too fast :(
