? Insulin making no dent in numbers for last 3 doses - please help!

Hi everyone,
I'm a relative newbie here and am at my wit's end. Landa's numbers have been bouncing all over the place the last 2 weeks since she had the Libre fitted, but since yesterday's pm dose, the line has been flat on 400 on my app. Same after this morning's dose and now same again after her pm dose. What is going on? Why has the Lantus stopped working completely all of a sudden? She has been on 1 unit twice a day for just over 2 weeks. I had to take her to the ER this morning on my vet's advice (totally unnecessary it turns out). Her BG there was 388 and ketones 0.4. They told me to INCREASE the dose to 1.5 or 1.25 even though she had 67 2 days ago. My vet agreed. I didn't want to do that, so I gave her 1 unit as usual. I've ordered another pen that's due to arrive from Chewy tomorrow, but in the meantime, can anyone explain what might be happening? I'm pretty sure the shot went in (am now using a syringe, even though I was happier using the pen plus a pen needle until she ran away mid shot a few days ago. I can't rely on my vet's advice and reallly don't know what to do.

As I said on that post, she's bouncing. Bounces can take up to six cycles to resolve and it's been only 4 cycles after that 68 a couple days ago. Numbers wobble around while they are bouncing. Since you are following SLGS for dosing, you need to reduce the dose to 0.75 units. SLGS says to reduce immediately if they go under 90.

I think you are seeing a bounce from the green and blue plus there was a skipped shot.r My pub reduce if under 90

Thanks. My vet didn't mention anything about a protocol. I just wrote that on the spreadsheet because I assumed that's what we're doing, but I have no idea! How do I know what protocol we're meant to be following? The vet started Landa on 1 unit twice a day just 2 weeks ago.

There is no dosing method you are meant to be following - it is your choice which method you want to follow. It depends on your goals for Landa and lifestyle as to what works for you. People pick one or the other, based on what works for them and their cat. More details here:
Dosing Methods: Start Low, Go Slow (SLGS) & Tight Regulation (TR)

You cannot follow TR if you are feeding any high carb or dry food. There are some differences between the two methods on how long you hold (stay at) a dose before increasing, and at what point you reduce the dose. Also with that are requirements for testing, but with the Libre, you can use either as you are collecting enough data.

1 unit is a common starting dose when following TR but it depends on how much the cat weighs. People following SLGS and with an all wet or raw low carb diet, would start at 0.5 units.

Thank you. That's really helpful. Landa has always been on wet food only since I adopted her and now only on LC wet food. When her BG dropped to 65 the other day, I hadn't been able to get her to eat much before the shot. That explains the really low numbers on the spreadsheet generally. Her appetite has veered from ravenous to not wanting to eat, especially when presented with the LC Fancy Feast. She also vomited a couple of times in the last week and had diarrhea once. I'm not really confident as to what to do in those situations - to dose or not to dose. I wish the vet had started her on 0.5 as opposed to 1u.
