Happy Caturday :)

Fistuk is back to (his) normal :joyful::joyful::joyful:

He's eating the big meals with a syringe but that has been the case lately. I'm confident that after the surgery this will get better. But he's not turning away his head when food appears on his screens :p And he eats snacks more independently.

He's still on 4mg Onda every 6 hours. I'll start slowly taper back tomorrow.

Good think I suddenly remember that we're changing time tonight so I can move his shot time 30 minutes earlier this evening.

He had an unexpected jump @+2.5 I wonder what this is about. I'll wait until tomorrow morning to see what he's BG is telling me. I'm pawsitive that if he hadn't had a snack at +6 (because he gets his pill then) his usual +7 nadir would have been in the 60's.

We started probiotics - Flora Complex from Inuvet ( German company). It mentioned that it's safe for diabetes so I assume the +2.5 spike wasn't because of that. Lets see the +3PM

I took him to the toilet @+6 and he decided to go out to the balcony instead of back to bed. It's rather windy today but he loves the outdoor. That's such a good sign for Fistuk.

Fistuk is such a fighter. I'm so proud of him :cat::cat::cat: Now I pray that he keeps like that until the surgery. Counting the days o_O

My surgery cut is also healing and the sutures are beginning to disappear. I'm still with painkillers but much less.

Wishing you all a blissful Caturday :bighug:

In the pic: Fistuk is trying to dig into his supper last night :cat:

This is wonderful news, Shelly! Go Fistuk, your fans are cheering for you, so fight-fight-FIGHT!!

I love the photo. I want to tickle his little toe beans!

Just wondering: is it really necessary to cut back on the ondansetron? It sounds like it’s helping him. If it’s a cost issue, maybe you can research other sources. I recall paying about $1 per tablet at the pharmacy for Chispa’s first prescription, only to learn that I could get it for 13 cents per tablet online.

Please give Fistuk kisses from me!

Oh, I am so happy he is back to normal! I love your photo, he is so cute like that.
Have a good weekend, Shelly!
Do you want some more kefir grains? I am going to Lyon next week to help my mom who is getting surgery, I could bring some and send them from there. Let me know :-)

Thanks for the cheers, Karen. We appreciate them :)

It both a cost issue but also the fact that I don't want to give meds when it's not necessary and I need to consider his kidneys.

At the moment I see no difference than the eating pattern he had before the vomiting episode - he's eating snacks on his own but for main meals he needs the help wit the syringe.

I tried cerenia before and it didn't move an inch. Mirtazapan also didn't do anything. I don't know of anything else that might replace Onda.
Ondansetron is VERY expensive here nd no chance getting it without prescription. It's 5$ a pill. Why does it have to be sooooo expensive.

I've got tablets for another day then another box which will last 2.5 days with 4mg every 6 hours.

I will try to taper back to 2mg and see how it works. If his appetite worsens again I can always get him back to 4mg.

Fistuk appreciates the kisses and asks for more :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Staci. I'll be getting up at 1am to give him the Onda so it's quite disturbing. But I hope it'll be only that.

Five dollars PER TABLET??!!! That is outrageous.
I have an idea. I will PM you so as not to clutter up your thread.
