Happy Furrrriday everyone :)

Fistuk is getting better and better.

Last night he woke me up almost every hour or two and asked for food. That was a rough night for me. Then at breakfast, he just didn't want to eat.

I hope this doesn't develop into a habit. It's hard to say no to Fistuk. He has a way of insisting quietly on what he wants. He'll walk around the room and with his heavy legs, because of the neurological problem that he can't walk on his hind legs properly, he'll make a thumping sound that'll wake me up. And he knows it. So he'll walk around the room from one spot to another until I give up and give him food.

It's really joyful to see some of the old Fistuk coming back, and it has a price :nailbiting::joyful::joyful::joyful:

He peed last night but no poo yet.

I'm still concerned about a lime visit and according to his patterns, I can see he's doing his best to avoid it. Still holding 0.8U unless I feel unsafe.

I'm just happy that he's eating on his own. It's such a huge relief not to worry about his eating.

Wishing evreryone a boring Furiday :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Shelly I read your last 2 posts and commented on them. I'm so happy Fistuk is getting better every day.and bugging you for food. Wishing Fistuk a speedy recovery. I knew he was a little fighter :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::cat:

Shelly, do you think that he's eating better now might keep him out of the limes? I sure hope so! It's good to read that he's improving, even though his improvement is creating some discomfort for mommy. Somehow the intelligence of cats is never so obvious as when they are hungry and know that we're the solution to their problems :smuggrin::cat::cat: Safe surfs, Fistuk!

No, I don't think it's the food. He ate before as well, only that I syringe fed him. It's more to do with lower levels inflammation which means lower levels of stress which means needing less insulin.
So far he's surfing nicely but I already know my boy and know that when I get these sensations of 'here's a lime coming' it's somewhere around the corner.
I don't wake up anymore at night to test him and if he went lime he normally will self-correct and a day or two later will go lime during the day. Very considerate :p But now in his condition I can't take the risk.
Luckily DH is getting now 4 days off so he'll take over a bit bc I'm beginning to feel and look like a zombie :bighug::bighug::bighug:

His numbers look really good. What a relief to have your boy's personality come back as he feels better! The little poo emojis all all over your spreadsheet tickled my funnybone; great way to keep track!
Yes, it's really a relief to have his personality back. It's painful to see them shut down and their personality getting masked by pain.
I copycat the poopy imojies from Angela ;) When he started having poop problems I needed to track it. And it's somehow comforting to see this little islands of poo doting the SS :woot::woot:

I had a bit of a scare earlier - Fistuk had some nasal bleeding.
The info sheet I received before the operation mentioned that it's normal to have some bleeding in the saliva but nothing about the nose.
It wasn't much. It started then stopped then later a few more drops. Doens't look like something to worry about but at first it gave me a real scare

He finally did a poop popp hooray :joyful: And it had literally zero smell :joyful:

So lovely to read your updates, Shelly! I’m glad Fustuk’s sweet personality is shining through. I’m sure he’s so thankful to you for getting him all fixed up. He’s like a brand new shiny kitty and he wants to show off for you!

Hope the nose bleed was nothing. And so glad to hear DH will be off for several days and can help out and give you a break so you can continue to heal :)

Sending you both lots of healing and much easier days and nights ahead. Lots of love :bighug::cat::kiss::bighug::cat::kiss:

Thanks, Staci :)
He does feel thankful. Though I don't think we're out of the woods just yet.
The nosebleed has subsided. One less thing to worry about.

He came to me earlier and wanted some cuddles. I got a bit tense because after the previous teeth extraction surgery, he did the same and then he had a full blown inflammation in his gums and his lips were swollen. I hope it's not a premonition of anything but just feeling the need to connect.

He didn't want to eat so I gave him 4mg Ondanestron at +3 this PM

So happy to hear he's getting better and better and more like his old self!
Sending healing vines and that he continues to recover quickly.
Wishing you both a restful evening and safe surf tonight.

I'm sure it's going to take some time to heal. You are his comfort and security, he knows you'll do whatever it takes and give him whatever he wants! :bighug::bighug:

Thank you, Madeline :)
DH took care of him last night. Looks like he had a surf but he may have had a tiny dip to the limes that he didn't catch.
