So beautiful--both of them!
His numbers are still looking good. Noogi's pattern seems to have higher numbers in the a.m., and then he makes up for it by dropping lower at night . There is no room to reduce to get the a.m. numbers down because of what he does later in the day, is there?
Happy Caturday, to you both! Safe surfs!

Yes, I think you are right. I'd love to see those AMPS numbers go down a smidge.
But I am enjoying a break from limes and all the stress that goes along with that.

His face reminds me very much of Fistuk. What's his weight? he looks bigger than Fistuk. Fistuk is a tiny 3.5kg now hence his name which means Pistachio in Hebrew :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Noogi is a big boy. At last weigh 5.7kg. They do look very similar but would be Small and Large side-by-side :p
Fistuk is such an unusual name! I love that in means Pistachio, that's adorable. Noogi's official name, from his previous owners, is Nougat, as they abbreviated it to Noogi, and I stuck with that when I adopted him. His nicknames are Noogs, the Noogles, and That White Cat (which I overheard my neighbour calling him with disdain in her voice when he was being a bit of a bully to her cat).

Shelly, please tell me more about using coconut oil. I know you have recommended it to others before. Noogi has always had skin irritations and for the last few months has had irritated patches on his face. They are not getting worse, nor better. He takes 1/2 antihistamine which is seeming to help with the itchiness. I don't want to use the cream the vet gave him as its got steroids in it. He scratches his face a little but is mostly unconcerned. The skin is not infected. But it does not look nice. Might coconut oil promotes healing? Soothe the irritation? How do you use it - smear it in, or just dab it on? A fair bit or just a tiny amount?

and That White Cat (which I overheard my neighbour calling him with disdain in her voice when he was being a bit of a bully to her cat).
Boo on her!
I love that he has few nick names. My boys have lots of nick names too. Ive got one that I use for both of them and I love that when I use it they both respond :joyful:

Coconut oil is very easy to you, I just apply organic one on the scratchy patches very few hours. I use an organic now since it's absorbed in and if they lick it you do't have to worry about the sugar.

But this is just to sooth, to promote healing and prevent bacterial infection since coconut oil is antibacterial. To deal with it you'll need to figure out what's the reason for the itchiness and my theory is always - it's in teh gut! Either food allergy or lack of good bacteria.

Prince has food allergy for sure. I found a food that gives him the leats trouble but he's still itchy. As soon as I get my salary I will start buying food which the vet recommended. It's an independent company that cooks good food. She suggested I try more exotic foods for Prince such as kangaroo or horse meet or insects. I bought a kangaroo sachet and he didn't touch it. Prince is very difficult with food. Not that he's difficult only that he tells me that the food I give him doesn't work for him.

I often think that he developed that because he's very jeleous of all the me-time Fistuk gets from me and it's his way of receiving attention. I sometimes test his BG just to give him a sense that he's in the club. At insulin time we have a ceremony where I lay down a towel and Fistuk comes and Waites there for his poke, food and jab. Prince will then sit right on top of the test kit and notepad as if to say "look at me, I'm here too". So there's no way of testing my theory, maybe only if Fistuk goes into remission and receives less medical care I could test my theory :banghead:;):bighug:

Thank you very much all the info, I am definitely going to give it a try.
I do agree about needing to figure out why. Depressing if it is his food tho as we have so little LC food options here in SA. I have worked so hard to get his BG regulated and don't want to start messing with what we have going now. But I guess I will need to do more investigation if the condition persists. Or at least start him on a probiotic.

Love hearing more about Prince. Understandable that he wants a fuss made about him too!
