4/9 Charlie AMPS 114, +1 103, +2 85, +2.5 88, +3 90, +4 88

I'd say too soon to see if he's dropping too fast. See where he is at +2. Might be a good time to see how responsive to carbs Charlie is :)
I'm thinking so too but I'm soo hesitant to give him food that he's not used to (even though it's the same brand and same protein). Last time I switched his food he got severe constipation. Maybe it won't affect his tummy if it's just a tsp?

Jess, I can't remember: did you decide to change your reduction number to 80? I remember Bhooma suggested it, but I don't see it written on your chart. Usually people note that difference in the dosing method next to "SLGS" on the chart. Perhaps you did not make that change.

I decided not to. I'm going to stick with reductions under 90, which means he'll get one this evening. This just isn't sustainable for me :(

Just checked an he's at 88 now. How long on average does the food boost last? AKA when should I check again and give more food if needed?
He's not in any danger, but if you have the time, keep testing and experimenting, just to get a feel for how he's responding. As I said in my other message maybe try to keep him at 90 (or a bit higher if that would make you more comfortable). For Noogs the MC food lasts about 30 to 60 mins, but Charlie might be different. Try and see! Keep going with a teaspoon or two at a time. Make notes!

Thank you so much for your help and encouragement! I saw your message and just mixed in a little more with the rest of his regular +2 food and his "little guys" (that's what I call his probiotics lol).

I'll keep testing and try to keep him around 90 for the next few hours like you suggested

Way to go, Jess and Charlie! Excellent calm, sound advice Helen. :):bighug:

Makes all the difference when you don't feel like you're shooting in the dark and have some confidence of what works for them. I have to get better at making notes for future reference.

Thanks so much Laurie! I'm glad I wrote it down as I did it (actually, IIRC Helen suggested I do that a little while back). I would definitely forget otherwise. It's such a flurry of action! Maybe keeping some notepaper and a pen by the cat food could be helpful?
