WCR - just a typical morning for us :) Happy kitty has her belly fed and is having a little bath while devising a plan to break into the bedroom to finish civvie Clancy's breaky too :)

I gave her 0.1R this morning (as per advice in yesterday's condo) - of course she had the lowest amps she has had in a while... but I decided to do it anyway - Jojo doesn't think that .1 will make much of a difference but will give me a chance to see how she reacts, and since I am here to monitor her - I felt it was okay to go ahead with it even though she is starting off at a not bad number . i will keep you posted on her curve over the next 4 hours

Re: 01/24 Bayley amps 211, +1 239

She is up at +1 - but I am thinking this is due to having had breakfast - I hope I have not spoiled the curve by feeding her at shot time - but that is our routine.... that is how she is so good getting the needles...

I think feeding her and doing everything you normally do at the normal time, is right.

I must have not gotten R any into her -

amps 211
+1 239
+2 257
+3 272

Maybe in trying to measure 0.1u - I measured too little and she got none?

Go back and re-read Jojo's post:

all you are gonna do is give 0.1 units of R after you give AMPS (separate syringe) and then test to see the response. i am so not expecting crappus from that dose of R based on what your current lantus dose it, maybe maybe you'll get 25 or so points off BG than what was gonna happen w/o the R, but we always start at 0.1 units when firing up R for first time since it is a new insulin and a powerful one

This is a small dose of R and it sounds like nostraJojo was predicting a minimal, if any, response. I also think with R you do need to have food on board otherwise you will get a very sharp drop in numbers. Remember, it is a quick in and quick out insulin so food will act as a buffer.

I agree with Cheryl, I don't think Jojo was expecting much of a response from 0.1u, but just like with Lantus you have to start low to be sure. The difference is that you don't have to "go slow" necessarily. I think Jojo is planning to stop in here today, but I'm guessing she'll suggest 0.25 R for your next attempt, and then curve that too.

Eventually you'll figure out how much of a drop Bayley gets from each dose of R. Then most people seem to make a sliding scale so that based on your preshot, you'll know how much R is ok to shoot. But for now just collect the data.
