Panzer had a couple of loose stools yesterday. I was reading about the side effects of the probiotic that he is on & I'm not sure if that could be causing the loose stools or his antibiotic the Clavamox. I did things a little differently today. I gave Panzer his Clavamox@ +8AMPS Feeding & waited to see if &when he would have a loose stool. He had a loose stool @+10.5 AMPS. I gave him the probiotic @PMPS & nothing so far. I'm glad that he only has 2 more days on the Clavamox after his dose tonight @+8 PMPS. Not sure how long after I should stop the probiotic especially if it's causing the loose stools. He's taking Saccharomyces Boulardi Plus MOS probiotic +prebiotic. Is there anything else that would better suit him if I need to continue with probiotics? Assuming it could be causing the loose stools. He started on the probiotics on Feb 24th & the Clavamox on Feb 25th. https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB...9-4-95-6-102-8-questions.259978/#post-2920239

I am going to start charging you to correct your previous days posts :p
Just tap on your name and then postings and look for the previous days date

I did a search about probiotics and found Suzanne suggested some of these for you
Better choices are Proviable DC, Visbiome (expensive but good) and some others. And, of course, the s. boulardii is to help with diarrhea or, in this case, to help him not to get diarrhea from the Zeniquin

Here is the post of yours she mentioned it on

The Clavamox is likely what is causing the loose stools, not the S. boulardii. I would continue the S. boulardii for a while after stopping the Clav to restore gut flora, and then start him on a more potent probiotic with different strains of bacteria like the ones Diane mentioned above. I give Ruby Visbiome, and some sort of fiber to work with it like psyllium and freeze dried powdered pumpkin.

Ok thank you for the info & suggestions. He hasn’t had anymore loose stools, so that's good.

Gave Panzer his first dose of Clavamox for today & he puked up the little bit of water he had eaten out of his bowl & half of the pill & pill pocket. I guess he just gagged on it. I put fortiflora on his food & he ate all of it & was running around the house playing.

Panzer just pooped it was partly formed poop & a liquidity at the end. We only have one more dose of Clavamox @+8 feeding PMPS. I've also only been giving the probiotic once a day. I will give him the probiotic for another week & look into getting a different probiotic for him.
