1/07 Ruben advice?

I was doing well with Ruben but still getting mostly 300's at night and in the morning (some 200's) but some nice numbers in the 100's or lower at NADIR. Now, over the last week or so I am having trouble getting him to get below the 200's at NADIR. (once i got a reading at 96) The only major change I see is to his diet where I began to add some FF beef and chicken (supposed to be low in carbs according to Janet and Binky chart) and some Friskies special diet (beef) also low in carbs. Does anyone have an idea as to what might be happening? I know I should be getting night shots which I will try to do at PMPS +3 but then I need to get a full night's rest. Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated. thank you so very much. Sue

I usually go to or try to go to bed before +3, and always have an alarm set for midnight which is our +6. I don't always wake up when it goes off, but a lot of times I do. Half way awake, pick up sleeping cat, go to test spot, test, bring half way awake cat back to bed.

Hi Sue

welcome back!
I'm just gonna touch on the evening data here, cuz to me this is really important.
Honestly, u just can't go on the daytime cycle alone.

Perhaps u may need to consider adjusting your shot time schedule so ur evening +3 isn't too late for u?
Setting an alarm for at least one spot check would be good too.
Also, throwing in the early morning +11 one hour before AMPS helps.

I'm pretty certain most here will agree, you really need evening numbers as you are aware already.
I am thou very happy to see you posting - I hope you stick around! We'd love to hear about Ruben's adventures!

If the food is the only thing you have changed, it is easy enough to rule out that food change as the reason for the raised numbers but just going back to the original food, leaving the new stuff out.

I looked at Ruben's ss and there are no numbers on the pm side, so it's pretty hard to say all that much. I agree that you might like to adjust the shot times so that you are better able to catch numbers in both am and pm.

Oh I forgot something, it's very common for kitties to go lower during the evening cycles.
Lots can happen during the evening, as in nature, animals go wild at night - so to speak - lol.

Please consider these things for Ruben, ok?

I agree with the others, you don't have enough data to know if Ruben is going lower and bouncing to pink by PS, or if he is staying high and flat. He has gone low on this dose in the past, so it's reasonable to think that could be happening again. I would not change the dose until you can get a few more varied daytime spot checks, and get some evening checks too.
