I'm at a complete loss here! Her numbers are out of control and i have no idea why and more importantly, how to get them back to something along the lines of normalcy.

Would you mind looking at her ss?

Also, everything has been consistent for some time (shot times, feeding schedule, type of syringes, etc.) and her behavior is completely normal i.e. happy, eating, going outside. She does not appear to have any type of illness that i can tell and she had full dentals less than 5 months ago.

Thanks for helping, i appreciate it.

I love how people read but no one comments. 5 views and I was one of them 'cause I left to go look at SS. Come on people - do we have to give out cookies over here? I know you're curious/looking. If you're a newbie, no harm/no foul, just say Hi and maybe ask a question. You don't have to give advice, support is more than welcome.

Sorry, don't mean to editorialize & hijack.

Anyway, take a look at Monday. Lower preshot, so shot less insulin, yet she held on to a good curve with a 113 mid cycle - could have been nadir, could not have been nadir as it could have gone lower later before the 250.

What that tells me is the 2.5U dose is enough to produce enough shed to hold her numbers down the next cycle despite a 20% reduction in amount of insulin given. Leads me to consider dose is too high, but not by a lot.

Wondering why you didn't stay with the 1.75U that was given right before Christmas? That produced an excellent curve, yet she went back up after the 2U given next cycle. Part of the good cycle was result of the shed from the 2.25U's given the day before, but still the answer seems to lie between 1.75U and 2U. She's even not done too bad on 1.5U on 12/18.

In my experience staying with the lower dose for longer may yield some answers. Let's see what the rest of the crew thinks. And anyone who cares to peak their head out and let us hear from them. :YMHUG:

Thank you kindly Vicky. Will and i have discussed a dose decrease and i'm so glad you were able to validate what we've been thinking. I know it takes time to look at a spreadsheet, try to find trends and make suggestions - i am appreciative that you did.

We shot 1.75u tonight and really hope that we're able to find some consistency in the numbers. We're lucky, she's relatively young and right now can handle the swings but that's not going to be the case for forever.

Fingers crossed (where's that cat who flashes the peace sign that i keep thinking is kitty fingers being crossed?) :YMPEACE: There it is - PEACE! (and fingers crossed).

That seems to be a reasonable analysis to me Vicky. It doesn't look like going up improves the situation except briefly. I think 1.75U is a good call.
