Ok, so today is a better day, not numbers-wise but attitude-wise. Thanks for the replies to last night's condo.
Cassandra, I will increase to 1.75u on the morning of 1/21. I am home a lot (currently unemployed) so I can monitor and watch Buzz closely. I don't mind being a little more aggressive with the dosing/increases, but I also don't want to go too crazy and overshoot. This weekend I will be out of town for my grandfather's memorial service, and DHW will be at home alone with the kitties. I am leaving Friday early afternoon so I will be at home for 1.5 days of the dosecrease, which makes me feel better. We will hold that for 3 days and see where we are (rather than doing 2 days). That is assuming that nothing happens today with the 1.25, of course.
In regards to someone (I'm sorry, my short term memory is horrible and I have already forgotten who!
) asking how Buzz is doing rather than the numbers, you are totally right. Before we started her back on insulin, her coat was dandruffy, and now it's not. That's the only sign so far, but she is not one for physical signs of stuff. The first time she hypo'd (BG of 38) she showed absolutely no signs of it, none whatsoever. Had it not been for hometesting, well, it wouldn't have been pretty. But thank you for reminding me of the "whole cat" philosophy. Of course I know that's what is important, but it's easy to let the number stress get in the way of that sometimes.
I am still keeping my fingers crossed for some yellows today (would love blues but I don't want to get too crazy with the wishing).
I'll let you know what happens.
