Pepper decided to be a green Pepper for Old timers day!

Happy Caturday day everyone.. so nice to see newbies and oldbies alike.. :-D

Today's recap:
AMPS 65
+1~88
+3.5~46
+5~71 - fed another snack.. he asked!

Old timer report:

History: Pepper was dx in January 2008... BG 275. We tried to control it with food as prescribed by vet (Hills DM).. Pepper lost lots of weight so we knew that the prescribed diet control was not working for him. We found a new vet and started him on Vetsulin (4/08 - 6/08) and started feeding Pepper Fancy Feast. However, he continued with the high numbers.. We were blessed to find this board and all the information to help Pepper get better. We made the big switch to Lantus (6/08) and Pepper made great progress.. Okay, it was a little slow going (breakthrough at 5 units).. but, with the help of the J-team and the love and friendship of this board we plugged along and here we are! 1.5 units.. Wow~

Current WCR: Pepper is feeling good today.. Went btb at +1 and was awaken by a green Pepper at +3.5 calling for his mousie.. I'm glad that he is feeling well today! The last few days he had a hard time keeping his food down and was feeling pretty puny.. Hugged his water bowl for the first time in months.. We gave him some Pepcid and it helped him immensely.. I went and read Jojo's article on Pancreatitis and think that we should probably get him tested. Pepper also has allergies and we control the itching and lickies with antihistamines. We switched to Tavist last week and it is working remarkably!

All in all.. Pepper does very well and we are just grateful for this board and all the peeps and beasts that inspire us.. Thanks!

Hey Moonie was dx'd 2/08!! But went to vet in 1/08-vet was a dummy!!
Green Pepper, Moonie is doing better getting greener..Oh if she could only be like you!!!! Please talk to her--

Hi Paula and Pepper! :smile: I hope handsome Pepper was just having an off day, and he doesn't really have the dreaded P-titis. If he does though, he's lucky to have such a great bean to take care of him. :smile:

Another beautiful day for Green Pepper. The Pancreatitis test should be taken during a flare to get a meaningful result. You probably know that already. I'm glad he is feeling better.

I have always loved this green Pepper.
I hope Pepper is feeling better.

Pepper may be an "old" timer, but he sure looks good, especially in green! I hope the rest of the day is just as pretty! He needs to show off for all the visitors. :mrgreen:

Thank you everyone who has visited Pepper's condo today!

It was a lot of fun and a stroll down memory lane for us today... :-D

Linda: Thanks for reminding me about getting his FLPi test when he is in the throws of it all..

He is feeling so much better and back to his ravenous self.. When, Pepper leaves anything on his plate we know that something is up..

We are so thankful and grateul for FDMB!

Off to dinner with DH.. I better hurry before he backs out.. lol!
 
Oh! He's my absolute favorite green Pepper! :-D

I do hope his tummy continues to feel better and the Tavist continues to work well.
down to 1.5u?!! that's fantastic!!
 
i've never managed to catch cleo in an active flare via fPLI.
recently tho it seems pancreatitis is active now via ultrasound. certain other values suggest it as well.
possible suggestion for you in case you want to check up on other health issues as well.

He is very frisky this evening.. nipped at me when I woke him to test him!
Then, he started trilling and purring.. Mixed signals or what..

I'll set alarm for another bedtime check. I know - shocking!
Fed him his favorite snackus (Wellness Chicken) and set his beloved timed feeder..
