Actually Alex's AMPS is his PMPS +14 which is indicated on his ss ...Mom overslept by 2 hours because I failed to wake up to the alarm I set for 4AM to check on Alex for a +8ish check
So I gave him his shot and food at 10:15AM eastern time. I know I can pull it back 1/2 hour depending on his number for evening shot, but how will I do his meal with that? He just will not wait until 9:45 to eat dinner. He will be howling. Especially since it's not fair to make Jackson wait that long.

What to do? Any suggestions? (I'm also concerned bout checking him when giving shot so late at night because I have to get up early tomorrow but I guess there's nothing I can do about that)

Aside from that Alex is doing good, he even cuddled up with me on the sofa last night which he hasn't done in like six months...before dx. It was only for 3 minutes...but he seemed like he wanted to be there. He even spends more time with Jackson(half the time snarling) but he's at least with us.... I feel like I have both of my cats with me again

Have a great day everyone and thanks for any help in advance :)

Personally, I would feed him at his usual time and not worry about test issue. Of course test, then feed like normal and if you need to adjust the shot, just do that.

Ok, not sure if that makes sense, not sure if I make sense today...

what I'm trying to say, is doing everything like you normally do on a normal schedule, just shoot him at the adjusted time. So, test, feed, wait until shoot time - test before shoot, then shoot.

    does that make more sense?

at 4AM but never heard it so it didn't go off in the morning either.
    No we're all screwed up

Oh well..he didn't hold on until PMPS..I don't know what he secret to that is :(
can ya let us in on it please? :?

It is so incredibly frustrating sometimes! That's why we have those smilies, I think.

I look at Alex's SS, and I'd be confused too. (((Caryl)))

I think the hyperthyroid has a lot to do with it and I also think, in Alex's case, that he stresses himself out incredibly. He 'seems' to have a vicious cycle thing going on where nothing is regulated, and nothing can be regulated until one of the factors is at least stable. The thyroid is confusing me because the number was normal last test bu he's not acting like it is...he is like a spinning top for most of his waking hours. I'm sure that when his sugar is high, this combination must feel awful to him as well...and I'm starting to think that his yowling is from severe sense of hunger he must feel from this. It must be very stressful to want and not receive also. I know that when my sugar is out of whack, the first thing I do is grab for something to eat, but he can't go to the fridge and serve himself.

This is all conjecture of course...but I was thinking about what makes Alex so bouncy...that's what I got

    It's just a guess
