Alrighty, now we have some action!! :thumbup

Like everyone says, you know your cat best.
That's how I knew something was up when I woke to Shadoe draped over my arm between elbow and shoulder, and that's something she has not done in ages and ages. I chalked it up to her needing to prop up on something to give her fat belly a rest :lol:
Naturally, I had to get up and test, just to check. Sure enough, we got yellow! Shadoe got a treat and we went BTB, both happy.
If I can get blue by giving Shadoe treats in the middle of the nite, I am setting my alarm every nite!

Anyways, her amps was nicely on the way up, so we continued with our usual am routine. She got a few fresh cooked chicken cubes from last nite while she waited between +11 and amps while I got ready for work. She left a nice healthy stool and a fair bit off urine in the LB overnite, so that's good too.

Overall, I think Shadoe getting pretty much back to normal, but I will continue with the fluids because she really seems better, almost relieved, after receiving them. I don't know why, but I will continue them for now. At the vet's, they said I should continue them, at 100ml once a day, and maybe later we could go to every second day. I had asked if we should decrease the amount now that Shadoe is not vomiting and is eating OK, but no, we are to stick to the 100ml. I suppose I'll go along with it because Shadoe seems better for them, and it seems maybe to be helping with her numbers getting prettier.

Today is starting off pretty good for us; Shadoe's happy, so I am happier.

Scratches to all kitties today, and let's see some nice numbers for your beans cuz they want the best for you.

Yay Shadoe!!!!! What a great way to start your day. Nice WCR...I can just picture her new belly rest. :lol:

Yay!!
Finally a nice start to Shadoe's day.
So happy that things are looking up and Shadoe is starting to act like her oldself.
Looking forward to thi continuingand I hope she beahves while you are at work.

I left for work before it was +1 time, but Shadoe was doing so well up to amps, and she was arleady gone BTB, I did not have the heart to wake her just to see another higher number.

I'll be home to get a +10 or +11 and will see how the numbers held up.
Maybe, just maybe, if they don't go too high by pmps, maybe tonite's fluids will help her stay lower and maybe even get us another green!

I know she can do it because we saw that single green on the day she got her first batch of fluids at the vets. :smile:

The squids don't really help Shadoe's numbers get better. What's happening is that the extra volume of fluid is, in effect, diluting the glucose in her blood. It's still there just more dilute so you get a lower number when you test.

Thanks Sienne, for the clarification, but now I am confused_cat

Does that mean any nice numbers would mess up any dosing decisions?
If she is showing some blues due to the squids diluting the glucose, then we could decide on a .25 dose change when actually it could have been a .5 cuz without the squids, she would have been hopping and skipping in her usual pinks.

Or, if she is really in need of the squids more than I realize, maybe her glucose is not as bad as I have been thinking.

UGH.
Did that make sense? :?
 
It looks like we are back to our normal pinks.

Shadoe is eating very well now; she has consumed three 3oz cans of food in addition to some chicken cubes and snacks. The nite's not over so we will be opening can #4 in a bit.

Time for SQuids in an hour or so; maybe we will see some more nice numbers afterwards.
 
stinkus pinkus...but with shadoe's appetite it sounds like she doesn't mind the stinkus pinkus.

wishing shadoe some yellows tonight.
 
I don't have an answer since I don't have experience with squids other than what I see in SSs. I think the cycle without the fluids may be more reliable since the use of fluids is time limited. Perhaps one of the others who has used squids and knows how to adjust dose around their use will chime in.

388 - OMG the 2 of them are plotting against us again!!!

Glad Shadoe is eating well, I think it will be up and down until the fluids and other issues start to reslove themselves.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

She loves pinks and I am starting to believe that she gets others when she lets her guard down.
I see no pattern at all; even if squids were to be affecting her numbers for the lower, then how come there are days when the added fluids does not make a difference?

Shadoe's eaten almost 4 3oz cans of food today, so I would say her nausea is long gone.
But she is not looking as relaxed as she has in the last few days.
Maybe she's just as tired of all this as I am. I'll try to get a couple tests before morning.
 
4 / 3oz FF cans!! That's like two medium Wellness cans!! lol Holy hungry kitty!! :o

I wonder what she has in store for spotcheck time....
