Spot has been surfing for 24 hrs. now and doing an excellent job at it! Did not do a sleep test last night, but I did give him his snack.

This morning's test and breffis was done early, but shot time was the same. Spot did not do as much pacing while I was getting ready for work, guess his tummy was full and he was happy.

Spot did have on zippy pants and was dancing around the house getting ready for Jasper's OTJ party this morning!

Super Spot!
What a beautiful transition on Spot's SS from the angry reds so long ago...what a wonderful
job you two are doing! I am so impressed! It gives me so much hope to see what you have
done with him :thumbup
(gonna show his SS to shadow...he will love it too!)

I have to agree with this. I remember when you guys were newbies using N and posting on the Vet, NPH, forum. What a difference to see your SS now, yup, it sure is pretty!

ain't it the truth CD and we only had to get her to one get together for us to gang up on and get her to switch. :o I tried for months on my own. power in numbers I guess

yep. I tried to even give her some free lev to use the first day she posted. nooooooooooooooooo she says. gonna listen to my vet and see. asked again and again and again. same answer.. want to try it a little longer yet (where is that banging head against the wall smiley when ya need it). how many months was that deb. keep telling her, spot could have been OTJ by now.

Spot is almost there now! (anti-jinx and all that stuff!)
I can't help but chuckle a little at how Deb doses... 0.3 then 0.2 unit. I mean who goes to such teeny tiny adjustments? ... oh wait, I remember now... that would be you Dian, hahahaha! What a good role model.

Speaking of when Deb was a newbie... When I left that NPH, Vetsulin forum because I switched to Lev. I watched you and Wheezer and also Emmy and Dude. Seeing those two kitties and what you guys had to do scared me silly. OMG what in the world? Emmy was shooting R.. I didn't even know what that was... Wheezer was going down to the 20's, then back to the sky all in a day... Yup, you guys scared me and I really thought I'd never be able to do what you did. I thought your cats were the norm.... !!! Two of the most unpredictable kitties in all of FDMB and I thought you guys were normal. Well, you know what I mean, I'm sure you ARE normal..... LOL.

But yeah, it hurts to see how close Wheezer is... but is too stubborn to quit altogether.

Deb, sorry for hijacking. Go beat up Dian, she's closer than I am. LOL.

wish the wheez was norm. would save me mucho dinero. told him he can still go on vaca with me but not if still on the juice cause he is spending too much. don't think he cares.
sorry we scared you. emmy and I will more than likely have the only 2 cats still on insulin. whaaaaaaaa

Re: 1/28 Deb's Spot PM +4 ~ 103

hahahaha you two are funny! Wish I knew you guys were here in my condo so much, I would have joined in the party!!!
Yep, CD, Spot sure is doing so much better these days, compared to when he was on N. I can remember how my stomach used to turn when he got those red numbers, especially when the meter read HI cuz I knew that he was well over 500.
And, yep those PL (Pittsburgh Ladies) were really brutal at that first get together. When I left there that night, I was like, afraid to go home and give Spot his dose of N just in case one of them had followed me home!! Seriously, though, I am glad that I decided to go to that get to. I got a lot of good information from the PL, and I knew that Lev had to be the thing since they were all singing it's praises. I had been thinking about switching insulins, but with me being one of those dedicated people (aka, person who does not do change very well), I wanted to do everything possible to see if the N would work before I switched. (I get that from my line of work, you know....make little changes to see if the behavior we are trying to get rid of goes away. If one thing doesn't work, we make little changes) However, after that day, I did more reading and research and made several trips to the vet to talk to her about the different insulins. Although she had no experience with Lev or Lantus, she read my print outs, did her own research and made calls to other vets, and when I finally decided that I wanted to go with Lev, she was more than happy to learn with me. I really did want to include my vet in my decisions since she is the one who has been seeing Spot the longest and she is the one who will be treating him. It may have taken me 7 months to make the change, and I do wish that I would have make the switch earlier, but now, with my experience, I can talk to other folks who may be using N and have the data to show how much better Lev is than N. There is a reason for everything you know!!

Now, let's talk about this +3 number of 103....Mr. Spot decided to eat some peas and some sauteed mushrooms about an hour ago. I was making Turkey Tetrazzini and had the turkey, peas, and mushrooms sitting on the kitchen counter while the noodles were cooking. I was sitting at the dining room table, writing out my bills, looked up, and there he was, just enjoying the buffet. You would think that he never eats. Oh well, what cha gonna do??? Sometimes you just have to go off your diet, sez spot.

Well, time for nini...gonna do some apps in FB and then head off to bed. have a good nite ladies!!
