hey Kathy!
lol, Condo is very spacious, I see Bert running around over there :dizcat

lol, I'll just help ya a little bit here ok? This is how we learn, so it's ok alright?

Your subject line is purrfect.

you'll want to link the previous days thread/condo so others can quickly jump and see what went on the previous day...
I've linked it here for u up above, for now, although it is from today, don't worry about it today.

Each kitty gets one thread/condo per day. Thats the idea to keep everybody in one place, neat and tidy. so important info doesn't get buried into the next pages.

have a read thru these two threads for more tips when u have some time, ok?

you may of already gone thru these, but doesn't hurt to read again.

you have done really well today!!! Do u have some chocolate? If not - u better get some, or a glass of wine will do too if u prefer that. :-D

Awesome start to Bert's first day in Lantus Land!! We're very glad u and Bert are here!! :thumbup

Helllloooo Kathy and Bert!! Your first condo in LL. Congrats. Looking forward to seeing Berts progress over time.

hi again,

I saw ur feeding question in the health forum, and thought I'd just let ya know in here, that with lantus, u want to remember not to feed after +10 in both cycles (AM and PM) or else u will have a food spike affected preshot number.
A treat is ok but if u can help it, try not to feed after +10.

You'll want to feed at preshot times, and have food available thru the day.
If u have a timed feeder this will come in handy for the work days and overnite while u sleep.

u can also freeze "wet pucks" of food and pop them out into the food bowl, thru the day they will defrost, allowing Bert to snack.

you may want to visit Dr Lisa's website on Feline Nutrition, she talks about how much to feed, weight concerns etc..

Other than not knowing that we link our condos, this is great!

I hope you're not too overwhelmed. We've all been there and the front end of this learning curve is huge. Ask questions. Look at our spreadsheets. There are a lot of people who are still fairly new Lantus users, some of us who have been around for several months, and some even longer. There are some very experienced Lantus users who provide incredible guidance for dosing related issues. People will stop by and offer comments, encouragement, and support. Visit other condos, as well. (We're very social!)

Saturdays are becoming a very special day when some of the veteran Lantus users, many of whom don't post regularly because they don't want to take up the space that new users need, stop by LL. So, it's especially important if you have an urgent concern tomorrow (or any day for that matter) that you change the subject line in your first post of the day to indicate you need help or have an urgent issue. In addition, add a reply post so that your condo is bumped to the top of the Board.

For tonight, you probably don't need to do hourly spot checks. You will want to get in the habit of getting a before bedtime check in every night, though.
