Another morning in the red and I didn't give Alex any HC last night. His dose was decreased by .25 last cycle. Could that case him to be "HI" this morning?
Other than that, Alex is fine. Started the day with a huge breakfast and has already knocked over a trash can and made a mess. Life is good :lol:

Maybe Alex just wanted to say "HI" to you this morning, and since he can't talk or type....... :-D Sounds like a typical day (trash and all) so maybe he will show some nicer numbers soon. Give the dose a chance as long as it brings some blues or greens sometime it is doing what it's supposed to.

monitor monitor monitor..I either gave Alex a fur shot tonight or OD'd him or gave him too little ..don't ask but I am so upset with myself I don't know what came over me. well yes i do, Jackson is sick with upset stomach and i'm trying to take care of him with Alex growling at him and i was rushing and not thinking. So you don't know if you gave the shot at all?

Or you don't know if you gave the correct dose?

Or you don't know if you gave the shot and it all went in or was partial fur shot?

Is that what I'm understanding from your frustration?

Unless you are 100% sure that you did not give a shot at all, DO NOT shoot again. Since you can't be sure what you did or didn't do, it's best to skip this round for tonight, expect ugly for the AM and start over then.

Make sense? sigh....

All of the above guys. I know I gave a fur shot but I don't know if it was the whole shot or partial and the reason I know this is because my hand had quite a bit of liquid on it when I felt the injection site after removing the needle. I wasn't sure if I was smelling Lantus so I squirted a little on my hand and yup, it was (how I couldn't be sure of THAT smell is beyond me)

So stupidly I figured I had at least one unit on my hand so if I had missed completely, at least I'd make up one unit... :oops: GREAT MOVE CARYL

That's why I said"either a fur shot or i had OD'd him"..I don't think I OD'd him...he has risen in the last 2 hours which of course doesn't mean anything yet...but I'll be watching.

Stay tuned for a reading of HI in the AM..I am an ass :cry:
 
Caryl dont beat urself up! these things happen and it's ok - either way furshot or OD - u'd still be kicking urself..frankly Im glad its a furshot and not an OD!

Sounds like you gave another 1u shot to make up for what you thought was the amount on your hand?
I hope everything turns out Ok. At this point, I do hope there was a lot of Lantus that missed going in with the original shot.

That's what I did do...

It appears as if I called this one correctly...Thank Goodness.
It's almost +4 and he's still going up. I actually wasn't totally irrational when i did the goofy thing I did.
I felt a lot of fluid on my hand and realized how tiny those units are. I just wanted him to have SOME insulin rather than none
cause I figured I either got the needle in or I didn't, but I didn't want to double dose him "just in case"..hence , the extra 1 unit which I knew
wouldn't kill him in any case.

but I regretted it right away...even though it may be keeping him in the 300's for now
but I guess what's the point of 2nd guessing.

He has been squirmy and yakky with ants in his pants all day and night. I want to lock him in a room. It's one of those days :( Tomorrow is another day....
 
Pepper has been antsy all day today too..

man Paula, it's 1:30 AM and he's STILL yakkin' at me..he doesn't even afford Jackson the luxury of being sick one day. That does frustrate me. I know it's illogical to get annoyed and that it's hormonal, but I can't hear myself think. Some of the things he does are very very weird and he never would have done them before... :oops:

What can ya' do, right?
