Good afternoon,

we had a high night in pink and a Sunday in pink and some red. Seems like her breast troubles her and so far as I can see the skin is still open. In the past, there have been kind of holes which are open but now I see an open stretch where the skin is torn apart. Can't believe I hadn't see this coming. If I distract her with a catstick, she lets me put a cotton pad with some collodial silver on it. Seems this is not hurting her.

I will call the vet in the morning and hope they find a free spot for us which is somehow matching with my workhours. Usually Monday is difficult because a lot of people call after the weekend. I am glad she has still appetite and I don't see any signs of fever. I will measure her ketones tonight after the shot. Hopefully they are still in range.

Installed a new libre today and thank god it is working o.k. so far.

Hope everyone has a relaxed Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

I hope you can get in tomorrow morning. :bighug:

Thank you Cecile! I think it is not an emergency, otherwise I would have gone to the ER but something I would love to have the vet look at soon. What troubles me most is that we still don't know what we are dealing with. I will give an update....

Hope you and Bella have a relaxed Sunday! :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hi Heike, i’m so sorry to hear that. Her wound is open. I’m glad you were able to get some of the colloidal silver on it. Hoping that will help.
Can you leave a message at the vet’s office now, even though they’re closed, and that way they will see it or hear it as soon as they open up first thing in the morning and you won’t have to even have the delay of trying to get through? Just a thought.

You’re doing great you’re taking every little nuance. That’s all you can do. And you’re doing it every step of the way :bighug:

I’m sending you all the best wishes and hoping and praying the vet can take a look and have a suggestion of what to do to care for the wound.
Poor Binie, our old ladies sure have a lot going on. Don’t they? I sure wish they didn’t have so much to contend with :(

Sending you and Binie lots of hugs and prayers. I hope you both have a peaceful night :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Staci for checking on us, even though you have so much going on! :bighug::bighug::bighug: That is a good idea to write an e-Mail, I will do that. I don't want to be annoying but maybe it is easier for them instead of having ten people to call once they open up. I know they are in much earlier, so I might have a chance to get one of the few slots.

Yes, I wish it would be easier for our old girls. :( Hope Ivy is well today, thank god her bg is a bit more stable.

I send you many hugs and a nose kiss for Ivy! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Update: Measured ketones at pmps and they are 0.1 mmol/dl. That is great even without what is going on. As I was testing her anyway, I also used a glucose strip and the Accu Check measures almost 100 lower than the sensor. :rolleyes: I know they can be off during the first 12 hours but that is a lot. I have to keep an eye on it, especially before giving the shot.

Hi Heike, I’m glad the ketones are fine. And great job with the sensor installation earlier today!! Sooo glad it’s working. That’s always a huge relief. We need something to work so we can keep taking care of everything else.
I hope Binie slides back down back to blue again soon:cool:
Sleep well tonight :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thank you so much Staci! :) Yes, it was a big relief when the sensor worked. I am just a bit irritated by this big difference between sensor and handheld and for security reasons I make another ear prick before I go to bed. I just wrote an e-mail to the vet office, thank you for the perfect idea! Tomorrow after the shot I will pick up the car to be ready any time of the day. Hopefully they have an idea what to do and the wound is not to bad.

I hope from all my heart, that the reduction shows an effect and you get your most needed sleep tonight. And if you find out the next days you reduced too much, you can always go back up. I keep my fingers crossed, she is just running down the dosing ladder because she is doing so well. You are the best cat mom ever! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

I’m so sorry she’s having a problem with her chest again—I hope the vet can see her Monday and has a good idea to help her. You take such excellent care of her—she’s a very lucky girl! Try to take care of yourself as well.
Hugs to all :bighug::bighug::bighug:
