Hi Staci, good luck with the increase!

I’m curious, I see your signature says CKD stage 1/2, is that something that you found out via bloodwork? And is that the reason for the lamb diet? Sorry to jump your thread with questions that you’ve probably answered before.
Hi Tim, Ivy was diagnosed with CKD years ago before she ever had diabetes. I’m actually not sure what stage she is.
Her lab work looks really good at the moment and I think it’s because of the hyperthyroid situation, which tends to mask the true CKD situation until you get that either resolved or under some kind of control, which I don’t think we are.

The reason I feed her a novel protein diet is because they felt she had some form of IBD and that would help, so I’ve been cooking her food for her for around six years.
The diet was originally tailored around CKD and then it was reformulated when she got diabetes to a lower carb recipe. I generally feed her 6% and if I need extra carbs, I use 12.5% that I also cook for her.
Hope that helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

That’s great, thanks for sharing. I was reading last night in what I think is a CKD specific forum, was curious your experience. 6 years is a long time! :bighug:

Hi Staci,
sweet Ivy is already working the dose. :D:D:D Slowly Ivy.....let your mom take a breath!

Congrats the activation of the sensor worked out! :bighug::kiss::bighug:
Hi Heike, I’m always so relieved when the sensor gives a number after the hour wait. Whew!!!
I know you understand.
She started the day with a burst. Then fizzled.
I won’t be surprised if tonight‘s cycle kicks my butt. She tends to do that on the second dose many times. So we’ll see what happens won’t we?
Hope you and Binie have a nice night and safe surf!

Hard to decide what to cross fingers and paws for..... :) Calm night in cozy bed or night on the sofa, biscuits and beautiful numbers? I hope it happens what is best for you and sweet fluffy Ivy! :bighug::kiss::bighug:

Great idea to bump my dose Mom!

Amps 137 Libre

Couldn’t help myself and gave an increase to 3.75 u. this morning since I didn’t like all the yellows on her spreadsheet ;)
Activated a new Libre right after I fed and gave her the shot this morning.
Hope everyone has a safe surf today :cat:

Hi Staci. Good luck with the increase!
Glad all went well with activating the new Libre today.
Hope you have a relaxed evening and a safe surf, Ivy!
