Hi Heather-

I'm at work now, thank you so much for your quick reply earlier; I gave him the full dose. I'll admit I'm a little nervous. What if he goes below 50 and I'm not home to record it and I continue giving him .5 every day? He stayed in the blues on the .25 yesterday. Do you think I'm doing this right?

If it wasn't safe to shoot the 0.5u, Heather wouldn't have advised it. Given how well Boomer is doing, you're going to be seeing more and more green PS numbers. It's a bit unnerving at first but, it's a sign that Boomer's improving. You've been shooting numbers that are pretty close and Boomer surfs away. As long as there's food out, Boomer will be fine.

Hi Sienne-

Thanks. I know she wouldn't tell me to do something if it wasn't safe, I'm just being a "nervous Nellie" looking for reassurance.

Re: 12/30, Boomer, +11.5=77 HELP

OMG! This is scary! What do I do? I need to shoot 15 minutes early tonight (in about 12 minutes) because I'm going out to dinner tomorrow night earlier than his shot time. Do I give him insulin tonight? How much?

you're home tonight to test? Boomer is surfing, it's fine to shoot a surf (wait til as close to +12 as you can, though). Then get a +1 and post it. This is really good. :)

Before I do anything I just want to double check:

Tomorrow night I need to leave the house at 7:45 at the latest to go out to dinner at 8PM, so to make up for this I was going to give him his shot 15 mins early tonight, 30 mins early tomorrow and 45 minutes early tomorrow night. Following this idea, I need to give him his shot tonight at 8:15 - I can't wait to +12. Get it? Should I still do this or wait till +12?

Yes, I can test tonight and I have hypo stuff.

8:15 tonight is +11.75, right? Then yes, you can shoot that.

We have to talk about tomorrow, though, doing two very early shots in a row isn't going to work. I'll send this out to the dosing advisors to come up with a plan for you. For tonight, though, yes go ahead and shoot and get a +1, then we'll see what other tests are needed.

I sent a PM to Sienne & Gabby. I'm just not qualified to give advice, and i'm usually wrong. Try cross-posting on the Health board -- there's almost always someone there.

Libby and Kathy-

Thanks so much to both of you!
I gave him .5 and yes, shooting at 8:15 is +11.75.
I will get a +1 & +2.

I talk about the dinner date in my thread earlier today and I think Cassandra said that it would be okay to do it that way. I figured if I shave 15 minutes off each shot that would be better than giving him a shot 45 minutes early.

I'll probably be gone about an hour and a half at least.

oh, you mean you're going to shoot 15 minutes earlier each time? So tomorrow morning will be +11.75 from now, and tomorrow evening will be +11.75 after that? I understood you to say that you would be shooting at +11.75 tonight, +11.5 after that tomorrow morning, and +11.25 after that tomorrow evening.

Moving up 15 minutes at a time is ok.

I think the way you described the time shifts waer confusing. It sounded like you needed to shoot 45 - 60 min early twice in one day. (It's why I didn't want to weigh in -- since Libby was here anyway -- I wouldn't have known what to say other than 15 min.is usually the max.)

Sorry! I was trying to be detailed and I made it sound all wrong. I'm just trying to make up for the 45 minute time difference tomorrow night.

Awwww, thank you!!! You're the first person to compliment his coat! He doesn't even mind wearing it, I swear. I got the coat so we could try to take a Christmas picture - I wore green and he wore his red coat. None of the picture came out good!

Re: 12/30, Boomer, +3=114 - Advice

+3 =114
Is it safe for me to go to bed? This is probable a food spkie, I fed him at +1 and he always seems to be eating.
