Good Morning!
Latte was at a rippin', screamin' high of 256 when I got home from work around +6ish ( I forgot to look at time when I actually shot last night-yikes). down to 222 at +8 and stayed put until amps. Her a.m. drop should begin at any time now. Better start at eating this a.m., though still a little slow. I love how she sat in the kitchen with me while I was getting her food ready, raced to her bowl when i put it down and then took 2 licks before walking away! She gets me all hopeful and then..."just kidding mom!"
Cassandra: I will ask her vet and some other folks about the prilosec. May not hurt to try. Only problem is pilling. She is not good with it AT ALL, and absorption issues. So we would have to look into compounding which may cost more money that I can spend. Maybe one of the first things we could do is split her pepcid dose into 2 (am/pm). Unfortunately that means one more shot. *sigh* It may be worth the experiment for a few days at least.
I think i will try to get her into the vet on Saturday or Monday for a kidney panel. I have to wonder....anemia is often related to higher uremic values. The obvious signs of nausea in pm lately....well and a.m., too could easily be caused by the same thing. And, could this choking thing be related to acidic tummy/reflux as her specialist pointed out the possibility a long time ago? If so, this may unfortunately mean some of her values are rising. I HATE doing these panels because they rarely budge anymore and I feel like Ive wasted money. I also have a great fear of them....too many in the beginning after the ARF that just kept coming back higher and higher or bouncing around. It's like going to the dentist I just know once her kidney values start rising we ARE signaling an end to this journey. That said, its been a few months since we have had any labs and things can change. If they come back fine then we have good information to rule out the kidneys as the culprit.
I will be around today/night in between naps and an errand, so she can lay the low numbers on me!
