@Bandit's Mom Hi Bhooma I hope you r on here to tell me what I should do amps was 115 15 mins later because I stalled , he’s 106 should I shoot ?
Oh my God Bhooma I’m so confused. I was doing an increase and for some reason I gave 3 . Bailies not eating as much lately and I’ve been terrified that I’m not gonna be able to get him up if he goes too low. He had a problem with his mouth a couple of weeks ago. And he’s been on antibiotics. I have no idea why I gave three yesterday. Oh my god I’m losing my mind .so I gave him 2 u this morning .i was unsure what to do because he kept going lower and lower . Did I do the right thing ?And did you give 3U instead of 2.5U yesterday or is that a typo in the SS?
Because he was getting reds. And I messed up. I don’t know why I did three. So tonight I’ll go back to 2.50 it’s just that I think he’s nauseous now. His mouth is OK now. He’s just finishing antibiotics, but he’s having a problem going to the washroom pooping. He goes days without. And he drops little turds throughout the house.Hes not feeling great this morning.Im taking him to the vet this afternoon getting an X-ray and bloodwork to see if I can give him metacam for his arthritis he’s having a hard time with it . the doctor gave him Medicam for a week due to his mouth and that week he was doing fantastic. So I’m just gonna talk to the vet to see if I can continue the medicam because I can’t see him in pain. Why did you think he needed an increase? Didn't he drop to 2.8 on the night of 3/9 on 2.5U?
I would go back to 2.5U tonight.
How is his mouth now? Is he eating OK?
Yes, he’s eating OK now by the way. I just wanted to let you know that. But as far as his numbers in the first cycle in the daytime, he was getting a lot of purples and then reds so I thought he needed an increase but I totally never mean to give 3 .i ThNk I’m losing my mind .Why did you think he needed an increase? I had kept my civvie on Metacam for a year or two for her arthritis. It did wonders for her. In the US (and maybe Canada) it comes with a black box warning because many vets overdose cats (give them the dog strength dose) which can cause serious kidney issues. When dosed correctly it can help with arthritis. I guess you have tried all the other options? Joint supplements like Cosequin and Adequan/Cartrophen shots? I know you don't want to go down the Solensia route.Im taking him to the vet this afternoon getting an X-ray and bloodwork to see if I can give him metacam for his arthritis he’s having a hard time with it . the doctor gave him Medicam for a week due to his mouth and that week he was doing fantastic. That's OK. Hard to think straight when sleep deprived!Yes, he’s eating OK now by the way. I just wanted to let you know that. Yes I’ve tried everything as far as the arthritis goes. But I’ve got so much going on. I messed up with the cartrophen as well because he was getting a dose a week for a month and then I was supposed to give him one dose per month, so I don’t have any left so I’ll ask the vet for another vial of the cartrophen when I go there. But yes, I read something about the medicam and it made me feel much better about it. Because the black label box freaks me right out, and I was really apprehensive about giving him Medicam but when the vet prescribed it for him for the mouth issues He was so much better. So I’m hoping She will give me the go ahead to use Medicam .Thank you for understanding . I’m going through some other issues at the moment and my mind is all over the place. I always thought that antibiotics gave them diarrhea but it seems to be doing the opposite to Bailie . I have him on Nexabiotic is that ok ?I had kept my civvie on Metacam for a year or two for her arthritis. It did wonders for her. For dosing, we look at how low a cat is going on a dose.
