...in which he had his pre-dental vet visit, and showed all the techs how he gets tested. :smile:

He didn't get his +10.5 snack this morning. I never thought not having a snack could leave his AMPS higher...! Oh well, he is purry, and I got some head butts for breakfast! :-D
 
Kitty's AMPS look pretty good to me too! Hope he has a good day, shows his "better" numbers and doles out a few more head butts and cuddles!
 
Catching up with posts. I was going to ask how the dental work went but I guess you will be having this done next week. Any info I need to know about. Please PM me. I am freaking out about the idea for Skippy. It looks like Kitty is doing dandy and YES we do need to educate some of these vets :lol:
PS what with the sock and the vaseline...
 
I fill an old sock about 3/4 full with any old rice, and tie a knot. I put it in the microwave for 25 or 30 seconds, depends on the strength of your microwave -- BE SURE IT DOESN"T GET TOO HOT! it can feel warm to the touch, but it maybe be hot if you press it against your skin for more than 3 seconds. You want to be careful not to burn the kitty!!!

I just stroke the ear until it has warmed up. Then a dab of vaseline, which usually comes off after I compress the poke after testing.

Makes for easy testing!

After wasting 2 syringes because of bubbles, I got the third almost set -- NO bubbles! -- and saw it was off-kilter. Typical BDS crooked lines, and seemed like a little more space after the zero than usual (I compared it with the wasted ones).

My decision -- which I already regret! -- was to take 1/2 a drop off the usual dose to compensate. (We are nearly to the 1 unit line, so I could tell easily what was one drop less.)

I hope the amount was right. :YMSIGH: I'll get a bedcheck.
 
If you email BD they will send you a coupon for whole box of free syringes & a few discounts for syringes--
I had the same problem with the lines with our syringes, and think I maybe gave less or more on a couple of shots...
You'd think they'd get it after all the emails--But Girl--you get yourself a free box--We deserve it!!! Save the bad ones to send to them--I did & they send you a thing to show what was wrong..Is dental tomorrow??

Roni, I will definitely email them. I have a stack of rejected syringes sitting here. The dental is next Wednesday, by the way. Will get blood results from vet tomorrow.

No shave for THIS kitty, because I have left him MC out for the night. I just feel too uncomfortable about that syringe -- what if the dose was too high by TWO drops, and I took out only one?

And now everyone is saying, shut up and go to bed, Kathy, you have LOST it.
