Good morning everyone. ~O) ~O)

Bee is starting out in the blue & probably heading to yellow, but we're not gonna worry about it this morning! I think her vial is losing potency, so we're going to christen a solostar pen tonight & see where it takes her. Hopefully back to some better numbers! :thumbup Need to read up on how to use the gosh darn thing. I remember reading that some folks have had some problems using the pen...

Does anyone think I should skinny up the dose a little just in case she gets a real boost from the new juice?

Off to tbp. Have a great day & see you at PMPS!!

Hi Bee, I wouldn't skinny up the dose just for that reason...you don't know for sure that your vial is toast. I think the Solostar is used just like the cartridge, you insert the needle into the stopper. Haven't used it myself but I use the cartridge...you just treat it like a mini vial. Hope that helps some!

pretty amps. I think Bee went into the pretty bloos while you were gone ;-) that's just what I think!

Have a Happy Tuesday!

I would give the same dose...just watch her to make sure that it isn't a radical change.
Just as you would when changing a dose too...just be aware and watch a little in case.

Ugly PMPS...but Bee just got her first dose from the solostar pen. Sure hope this will help bring her numbers down. We miss our blues & greens!!

I have a question about using the pens. The box says not to refrigerate a pen in use. This seems a little odd, as I've always kept the vial cold to prolong potency. Are the pens different? Just wondering...

Time to make some condo visits. Hope everyone's had a great day!!

Ignore the label on the box. The pens aren't different, they should be refrigerated just like the vials or cartridges. That label instruction is for humans using the pens, they don't refrigerate the pens because human doses are so much higher and the insulin would be used up sooner and less need for longer storage. Usually the doses are very small for kitty cats and we need to keep the pens longer... and refrigerate. :-D
