Happy Furday everyone! I hope everyone has a great weekend.

ok. and what to do with my little sugar baby, well not so little. We had such nice numbers last night only to wake up to 452 at AMPS and 470 @ +1. I expect it's another rebound from that glorious 139 @ +5 last night. I was dancing in my kitchen. Just when I think he is settling into this dose we have another rebound and spend a few cycles int he reds and the pinks. Should I wait this out? Should I increase by .25? or ? It is the weekend, and I can watch him for a couple of days... not too crazy about dose changes during the week, when he's on his own here for 9 hours during the day while i work. anyways - opinions would be greatly welcome!

as for food --- Mannie used to be a lean mean fightin' machine . bcatrun_gif I now have a football... I wonder if I am feeding him too much. what do most of you do? Mannie is fed 1/4 can (5oz) of wellness every 4 hours, which he devours for the most part. Normally at pmps +3 he gets some fresh cooked chicken. so..... too much, or in the ball park? again - opinions would be welcome. I am concerned about his weight, and how can i manage this? perhaps being a football is just part of being diabetic?

WCR: cat_pet_icon great - it truly is. Mannie is a happy content cat: purrs whenever petted, cuddles when asked, and even when not, still makes his outdoor rounds, still looks for any ray of sun shine he can find. He takes all of this in stride... And he continues to wait patiently at test time while I get things ready - I still get his little dance at pmps+5. One really couldn't ask for more.

RECAP:
amps 452
amps +1 470
pmps 383
pmps +2 335 and on the decline... perhaps this bounce will clear quickly

As much as I hate to say this, I don't think kitties are supposed to resemble footballs. Granted, there's more squishiness to love, but kitties should have a waist! In case you haven't seen it, there's a section on feline obesity on Dr. Lisa's website. When you say you're feeding every 4 hrs., how much does that total? The other thing to consider is that obesity can contribute to FD.

I keep going back and forth looking at Mannie's SS. He's certainly hasn't had much green going on. He may have had some while you were at tbp, but he's had lots of pink and yellow. I'm thinking that an increase may help drop his overall level. I'd want you to get more input on this but that's my 2 cents, FWIW.

thanks Sienne. and thanks.

total food consumption is about 1 and 1/2 can per day. Perhaps i need to shave some off of each feeding. Yes, I have read Dr Lisa's article(s) on feline obesity. mannie has always been fit, never fat - it's just been since we have tried to make sure that there is food for him to eat when he needs it that he went from having a waist, to being a football - probably since november 2009. which makes me think - maybe i am overfeeding. i just wondered what the general opinion was, and how much he truly needs. I can try and cut back some. i wouldn't want all this to contribute more to FD.

thanks for your opinion on the dose. I will wait and see if any one else has an opinion. i just think that there is not enough green, way too much red.... and here we are.

Yes, I agree that it looks like an increase would help even though there were some blues recently. They were not low blue and too many reds. You've held this dose a long time and it is time to increase if you are ready. I hope you can test often to see how it is working.
Good luck!
