Yesterday's Condo

I hate this number for the start to Gabby's day! We haven't seen a red for a while. This is a little over a month on a cartridge and I started a new one today. I was hoping that Gabby could get longer off of a cartridge but I guess not. It seems like her numbers get wonky if I go more than 30 days.

Other than a red start, Gabby's good despite Gizmo being a pain. Poor girl went to have a good scratch and stretch on a tall scratching post only to be tackled from behind while in full stretch by a rambunctious kitten. No wonder Gizmo gets hissed at!

you and Shadow have to get serious now and go for the blues and greens.

Looks like Gabby is due for some green. Maybe this is the high before the low.

awwwwwwwww Gabby! You are so patient with little Gizmo. Maybe we should teach you a little self defense? Not to hurt Gizmo, but...well, you know..so you can at least scratch at your post! :roll:

Sorry about the red. :sad: I hope it passes through quickly ,but not too quickly *wink wink*. Gotta be careful how you word things around here...cats have been known to take things literally! :lol:

It's always helpful when Gabby lets me know she wants food or to be tested. She's dropped almost 200 points in 3 hours. I'm beginning to think that some kitties are more forgiving when it comes to older Lantus. Either that, or this was the proverbial high before the break. I'm leaning toward the former, though.

Yeah, we started a new cartridge - night before last and got a 39 last pm. Hope her deep drop settles down to more of a gentle slope.

Hey, when you travel - have you ever thought about those plug in thingys that have the kittie calm stuff in them? I know, real specific there but if you don't know what I mean I'll go look it up -or I'm sure someone will chime in. I wonder if that would help Gabby chill a little more for the DPS. OK - it was bugging me so went and looked - rescue remedy is one of the names.

And, found the plastic coil toys yesterday. So far, only Josie has played with them. Not sure if they will like them as well as Gizmo does.

She might have been wondering, what in the world is that red doing on my ss.
She made sure that disappeared, and hey, lets just forget the pink.
Maybe she has been having private chats with Max.

didn't like seeing that amps, but her +3 is certainly a nice drop. Now, let's see some blues in there somewhere. Hope the new cart works it's wonders for you.

i'm more the mind that i hope she surfs right here until PM cycle,then comes down to blues. no need for the boingy boingy.

glad she's back down to yellow though. we don't like pinks and reds Gabby!

About 90 min. before shot time, Gabby had a bout of puddingpoo. I haven't a clue what this is about. She's eating. I don't know if the high numbers mean there's an infection brewing or what the scoop is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Do you have some fortiflora? Usually helps with pudding poo. As does some canned pumpkin (not pie filling, but canned pumpkin). But it sounds like something is... off.

And you started a new cart, right?
Can you do a rundown of the 5 Ps?

No food changes - major meals are raw and snacks are FF (poultry flavors). The only difference today was a few tuna flakes on top of breakfast (vs. the usual freeze dried chicken. She's had the tuna flakes before so it's not anything new. I just haven't used it in a while) Both cats get the same food.

No other problems with any of the Ps -- I can't say that I've seen her peeing but from LB duty, this AM, there was pee. Poop - see previous post. Playing, preening, and purring (she was sleeping in another room most of the day so she wasn't actively purring), are all good - exchanged whacks with Gizmo at dinner time. No meatloafing. I don't have FortiFlora in the house and she won't eat pumpkin or yogurt. If this keeps up, I'll have to pick up some probiotic at Whole Foods tomorrow.

New cart was started this AM.

Let's hope it's just a temporary little bug that has gotten her and that she's back to her old self tomorrow.

Goodness, what happened there Gabby? My first thoughts was food, what did Gabby eat last and when? Could the flakes have just disagreed with her?

I don't have any other suggestions, but hope that Gabby feels better soon and whatever has her upset goes away quickly.

Well, some of that high number is probably a reaction to the large drop, dont you think?

Ive never fed raw, but is there ever an issue with bacteria that could cause problems? Or just unsettle their GI system? Im assuming Gizmo got the same batch, but Gizmo is younger right? Gabby might not have the fighting power.

Watch the poo and see what happens. may just be a one time event.

It does seem like it might be a reaction to that low yesterday. I wonder what happened in the later AM+ times. She might have been very low again, no?

Carolyn - I grind my own food and it's immediately frozen so the chance of bacterial contamination is small. I guess it's possible, though.

Lydia - I wouldn't expect her to be in the reds again tonight even if it was a bounce from the blue at +3 last night. She was back in the yellows by +4 and Gabby generally clears rebound pretty quickly. The red tonight is perplexing.

Gabby followed me into the kitchen while I was prepping my dinner. (Guess who eats first in this house?) She sat by her bowl and wanted food so her tummy can't be too upset. Her numbers are down a bit.

Gabby's tummy may not be upset but I can't say the same about mine!

I think I'm being a completely neurotic bean. Aside from puddingpoo, this cat is acting completely normal and is hungry. She's followed me into the kitchen and looked longingly at her bowl. She gets tested and gets a nosh. She's presently giving herself a very thorough bath.

I just haven't a clue what these PS numbers are all about. Or where the greens of a week or so ago went. Maybe her Lantus had really punked out and we're now refilling shed.

let's give her a few cycles at same dose with new cart to see if it was BIPO (big insulin poop out)... dontcha think?
I'm glad she's acting normal. eating, playing, preening,... etc. Hopefully it was just a one time pudding incident.
