Yesterday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=5480

Working today and it's snowing so I won't get another test until probably +10.

Noticed Joe hanging out at the water bowl again yesterday. That's something I haven't seen him do since we got him on insulin a couple weeks ago. His other symptoms seem better - he's alert and social. Unfortunately I wasn't testing while he was on Vetsulin so I have no idea what his numbers were doing then.

Hi Mel,

Was Joe just "drinking" water or was he nutso about it? Before Magnolia went on insulin, she was crazy for water, drinking constantly, always crying for more. It's good to be able to differentiate between normal water drinking and excessive thirst. How is his litter box? Any rivers in there, or just normal prezzies? I think it might be normal for some of his clinical signs to still be present (excessive thirst) until he gets a bit more regulated.

It's great that you are noticing these things. Since they can't tell us how they feel, we have to look at everything else. Good job!

Re: 2/8 Joe - PM +10 420, AMPS 325

I'm looking at Joe's spreadsheet. About how much dry food do you think he is eating during the day now? And how is the transition coming toward getting rid of that?

I'd like to suggest a dose increase, but if you're thinking the food switch will be done soon, then it might be better just to wait until that's done.

I'm putting down 2 cans of canned food and about 1/2 cup dry when I leave the house for 2 cats. They eat the wet first and DH said most of the dry was there when he got home. They were eating it when I got home about 30 minutes later. We're going to feed when we get home tonight instead of waiting until "dinner" time.

I need to go food shopping. The small cans of Fancy Feast are going to get expensive!

I'll start a thread for 2/9 with his AMPS and provide a link.
