Just plugging along today!

No luck with the Identity proteins I’ve tried so far. I did order the Ziwi Peak variety pack, so we’ll give that a try soon.

I’m slowly losing hope that we’ll find a canned option he likes. The next logical step is consult with a nutritionist (thanks Staci) or look into an allergy med like Zyrtec…

Have a great day! - Tim

Did you try other sorts of Tikki? They have pates, with rabbit, turkey, beef, etc, maybe he would like one of those?
His numebrs are so great! Have a good day.

Man, this food search has been going on so long for you two! I'm sure it's exhausting (and probably expensive). Is it still the allergies, that he just seems to react to everything?

I know, right? He pulls out his fur and is itchy. I’m just assuming food allergy, but don’t really know the root cause :(

I'm sorry to read that you guys are dealing with allergies, it is indeed very consuming, some days ago I was searching for something that could help Merme's itchiness and other sweet mommy recommended me Proviable Forte probiotics, she told me that it helped with her kitty environmental allergies, as she was struggling with severe allergies food and environmental

I wan't to try it for Merme too but I haven't been able to find it here in Mexico

I betcha donut or cake flavor would work!

We should start a food swap bank! Haha

Aww, poor guy! That sounds miserable! I wonder if it could be environmental, but that seems really hard to narrow down if nothing has really changed since this started. :(
Thankfully it’s not like incredibly bad right now, but it doesn’t seem normal either. We’ve tried the easy fixes Feliway and humidifier, so who knows. Appreciate you talking it through :bighug:

Interesting, I’ll do some reading! Thank you Andrea! :bighug:

I dealt with Chispa's itchiness and fur-pulling-out for YEARS (six - or more) and tried everything, I mean EVERYTHING, with no improvement at all. Then the vet started her on prednisolone for GI issues, and suddenly her fur grew back. It was like a miracle. I wouldn't suggest it, except maybe as a very last resort, because it is known to raise BG, and you really don't want them to be on steroids long-term anyway unless there's no other choice. You probably know all of this. But one thing that you may not have tried, only because it's relatively new, is the Revolution Plus topical meds for fleas & ticks. Chispa's vet told me he had seen chronic overgroomers turn around overnight once started on it. The Revolution PLUS has something that the original Revolution didn't have, and that ingredient is what makes the difference. It didn't work for Chispa, but maybe it's something to consider trying for Pookey if you haven't already?

Interesting, I didn’t know that! I’ll add that to the list of things to mention to the vet. It’s good to know there are solutions if things get worse or if we can’t find a success with his food. Thanks Karen :bighug:
