3/19 Noogi - PMPS 117, +2 124, +3 122, +4 113

Yesterday's post (and AMPS 283, +2 284, +9 160)
After another eventful night Noogi was rather high this morning. Probably because of the feast of food and treats he has last night as I tried to keep him dipping too low.

AM shot was 40 mins late as my little furry alarm clock didn't wake me up at the normal time :D
Hope that doesn't throw things out too much today.

Should I be trying to get less nervous about numbers in the 50s, or am I right to be alarmed like I am?
They can be alarming at first, but if you're around to test and feed there is nothing to worry about. You can keep him safe. Some cats surf for hours (if not entire cycles) in the 50s!

He's bouncing after 2 days of great numbers. A good time to catch up on sleep and other things we don't get to do in active cycles!

You can give your PM shot 10 mins later than your usual time and you will be good. :-)

Thank you as always for your advice and support Bhooma :bighug:

My vet has said a couple times that he would be happy to see Noogi stay in the 100 to 200 zone for safety and I think I have this stuck in my head, even though I have seen so many kitties surfing safely lower than that here. I just worry that he isn't as stable - right from the beginning he has gone way up and way down. I'd love to be able to keep him more steady. Not sure if that is possible, or if he is just going to always keep me on my toes?!

Vets like to keep cats in higher numbers because most people don't home test. Better they run a little high than even a minute too low - if no testing. It takes time to get used to green, but they soon become addictive :-)

His numbers looked good at 2U in the of Jan. He looked like he was getting ready to flatten out into blues and greens. His numbers have also been so much better at the current dose. He is seeing long stretches of blues and greens which is encouraging, as is also the absence of pink. Keeping paws crossed that he decides to ditch pinks and yellow soon!

Another very active night! Hope you're able to get some rest tonight but that Noogi continues in these lovely blues and greens! Like Bhooma said, those greens can become addictive. Love to see Noogi doing well at this dose :bighug:

You probably are in for a bit of excitement tonight. Looks like a repeat of the cycle of 3/17. Might want to give him a little carbs at +2. Reduce the drop at +3 that way. Maybe even give him a tsp of food at +1, if he will eat it.
MC snack gobbled up and he's holding steady. Let's see what happens in the next two hours.
Really hope I can hit the hay before midnight. I'm already yawning :D

He went down on 3/17 after that PMPS; tonight he went up after the PMPS, not a lot, but he went up. I hope the fact that he was headed up at his PMPS means he won't have too low of a nadir. Fingers crossed for Noogi (and for you--hopefully you'll get some sleep).

ETA: unless that +2 was food manipulated?? I see Bhooma's recommendation to do that.

I gave him some MC carb food at +2 as Bhooma suggested, but no treats (like I've had to use the last two nights).
He quite often goes a little up at +2 though so wasn't super surprised. But he is holding steady at +3 too which is encouraging. We'll see what he does at +4 ;)

Well done so far! He's in safe numbers. Let's see where he is at +4.:cool::cool:
Thank you Angela. He's looking okay, 113 at +4 !!

I think I can probably safely go to bed and try to catch up on sleep.
Will check him if I wake up in the middle of the night, which is likely as its incredibly hot here tonight.
