Another pee pad in the sink just in case :nailbiting:

I'm waiting for the vet's secretary to call me back re: possible FIC or other urinary issue. I went down the Merck and AVMA rabbit hole already :p Stress is a cause but I don't know what Leroy is stressed about. Maybe he somehow senses the new rat hierarchy or something  I don't think Feliway or something similar would hurt (does it affect rats?) but I've also read that the plug-ins horribly stain walls. Anyone know?

We’ve been running the plug-ins for 6 months or so and haven’t noticed any staining. They do get pretty hot though…

I used the Feliways pretty heavily with my FIC civvie. Make sure you renew the actual Feliway periodically and not keep using the same one with new refills. I think they get plugged after a while. I noticed a sheen on the wall that needed wiping, but not staining.

Still waiting to hear from the vet. I checked in with his secretary over lunch but she hadn't heard back and mentioned he would be leaving early so I might not hear back until tomorrow.

I found an old Reddit thread asking about using Feliway around pet rats but there was no real answer  Is there something with a similar effect but not a plug in or spray that I could use, assuming Leroy is stressed by something?

Or maybe I need to get a dog:p Leroy's litter box habits are fine when I have a dog visiting. I actually have one coming next weekend and it's the one civvie loves but Leroy stays away from.

Has anyone tried an animal communicator or psychic before?

You can get Feliway wipes. I used those on Neko's carrier when travelling with her. Have you ever tried Rescue Remedy for Pets?

I know @Marje and Gracie has used a communicator, but I'm not sure she's on much right now.

Is there another cat anywhere? Even outside.

And there was pee on the pee pad in the sink:facepalm:

Leroy had his dinner and spent a good hour pacing around yowling and whining before he settled down for a nap:confused: I have to get a weight on him later. He seems bonier :nailbiting:

I have another cat. Both get along just fine. I live on the third floor of a building and there are no strays or wandering indoor/outdoor cats.

I have not tried Rescue Remedy before. I'm not sure if any sort of calming product would even work for Leroy. Gabapetin and Tramadol don't when given together ahead of a vet visit :blackeye:

My Gracie had FIC and it led to her becoming diabetic because the vet gave her steroids which helped but I would never have done it if the vet hadn’t assured me a 4 yr old cat was unlikely to become diabetic. Lessons learned.

I never found that Feliway or Rescue Remedy worked for her. D-Mannose is helpful. I also like the Flow Free flower essence from Green Hope Farms. They have a good one for Anxiety, too. You can get them in small sample sizes to see if they work before purchasing the larger one.

I was able to find a holistic vet who did Nutrition Response Testing and she found Gracie had high levels of aluminum likely caused by her mother being over-vaccinated as I do not vaccinate my cats. Once she detoxed her, the FIC went away and never recurred. I had tried everything before that including the animal communicator, tapping, color sprays, Qigong, etc.

My holistic vet does remote consultations. If you want her info, please PM me.
