Is there any tricks to keeping his bg down? He was fighting my again this morning which is odd, he's gotten so much better when I was poking him more frequently. I'm giving him one and a half 5.5 oz can. Half a can for breakfast and dinner and dividing half a can into 4 snacks. AMBG 630 am 2.75 oz (half a can) 1030 am .68 oz (1/8 can) 230 pm .68 oz (1/8 can) PMBG 630pm 2.75 oz (half a can) 1030 pm .68 oz (1/8 can) 230 am .68 oz (1/8 can) Prev condo:. https://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/3-2-george-day-2-otj-ambg-77-pmbg-89.243966/
2:30am/pm would be +8, right? Try shifting it to +9? Doubt it matters though @Gill & George @tiffmaxee
As long as he stays under 100 try not to worry. Some even see an occasional blue. You can always get a test 3-4 hours after eating to see how much lower he goes but it’s not necessary. Try not to worry. Happy day 3!
Congrats on day 3 he is still green with that 94 I wouldn't worry too much about it. However, to answer your question, the one thing I have noticed with my George is that he does better, (BG is lower) if he gets food every 3 hours rather than 4. I don't know if that is even possible for you to try, if you can do it then it's worth a try. I have an autofeeder so I don't have to worry if I am out and I can sleep through the night, I do have to separate him from the other cats when I'm not about, to be sure he only gets his food.
Thank you EVERYONE for the encouragement! Love the memes! Ha ha. I have an auto feeder now also, so I could play around with how to feed him. Before he was officially diagnosed and was loosing weight, I stopped the dry food and only fed him canned food. One 5.5 oz in the AM and one 5.5 oz in the PM. He is good with weight now, which is why I lowered it. I suppose it could be a lot of trial and error! Math is not my best subject, so I started simple, ha ha.
