Good morning,

Yesterday’s post:

Someone decided to jump up on my desk last night! He hasn’t done this since he was a kitten, so that’s pretty cool. Maybe the Cosequin is helping.

Catch that mouse Pookey!

What is the Cosequin for Tim? I can see it is for joints, is it because Pookey has been have difficulty moving?
I'm curious as Noogi has been noticeably less active and definitely has some pain in the spine. The vet thinks probably arthritis due to age. He's currently on an anti-inflammatory, but I think I need to start investigating supplements that will make him more comfortable.

Hi Helen! Yes, the vet recommended Cosequin as a joint supplement for arthritis. He takes the stairs pretty slow and the vet felt some limited mobility in one of his legs, which is how she decided on arthritis.

Cosequin is easy it’s just mixed in the food and can be bought without a prescription, but does take 4-6 weeks to work (if it does, mixed reviews). If Cosequin doesn’t work out the next step is potentially Adequan or Solensia if you’ve heard of those.

Super, thank you for the info! I'll discuss with my vet at our next appointment.
They are all new names to me. Will have to find out what is actually available here in South Africa. Often under a different brand name. Will need to do my research :)

Hi Tim, I hope the Cosequin is helping since Pookey jumped up on your desk. I get a kick out of when you say in the remarks section of your spreadsheet 2 pees , 1 poop. It reminds me of what my dad would sing to my daughter when she was little. He would sing A shave and a haircut 2 bits :p
Beautiful cycles today Tim, surf safely Pookey :bighug::cat:

Haha, thanks Diane. I’ll never un-hear that now when I fill it in. You taught me something, I didn’t know that tune had a name.
