Yesterday, surprise quick dive into the lagoon.
4/1 Recap:

Neko is having one of her "hard to eat" days. She's got appy and interest, but having a very hard time getting down her raw venison. It's reasonably well ground and I add water to make it soupy, but for some reason it wasn't working so well today. Lots of mouth grinding noises accompanied her efforts. I was watching, she was only taking very small bites at once. She did manage to eventually get through all but a small bite of first breakfast, but for subsequent meals I had to break out the canned food. It seems to be the red meats (also kangaroo and elk) causing the most problems, so I may stick to raw chicken (home made and Nature's Variety) for the moment. Civie Theo was thrilled there were left overs to steal.

I need to get a better look inside her mouth and will ask the acupuncture vetty to do the same next week. I'm worried about soft tissue growth. :( Blasted acro. The dental vetty has said he could trim down soft tissue growth, but with her CKD and heart block incident at the last SRT, I'm reluctant to consider anesthesia. I'm feeling a bit like I'm between a rock and a hard place. For now, the softer food.

Neko's seems a bit quieter today, she's barely been out into the solarium, even though it's very warm and toasty right now. We have had some good snuggles and purrs.

Happy Caturday all. I'm in a bit of a funk. Besides Neko being off, the cold is overstaying it's welcome. In addition to missing the years first warm day long row down the scenic direction of the inlet this morning, I had to give up a quilt retreat. Argh! Thinking of Suki and Crystal today.

I hope Neko being off is just a quick little thing that is over before you know it. I can relate to the funk...hopefully that will lift soon, too!!

Well, dang it on missing rowing AND quilting!!! Sending tons of vines to Neko!!

Sorry you had to miss out on your fun things, hope you can lift out of the funk very soon - it's a sucky place to be that's for sure.

She went out to the solarium and had no problems with the freeze dried bison treat, so I am feeling better too. Thanks, vines are helping.:bighug:

i recall the beef raws were a lot denser..... so hopefully she's not having any difficulties with the softer meats....
and if those do fine, she can just be a poultritarian.... o_O

finally posted an update today ...come visit...

Sorry, Wendy, for the doldrums this morning. But leave it to the girl's better eating to perk things up. Now, Neko. Bean has a cold. Be good medicine for her, 'k?

Chicken afternoon snack was polished off. She's still in the solarium. :) Whatever happens with her mouth seems to be mostly a morning thing.

Thanks for those vines. Neko's a little quiet, but ate dinner with no grinding noises. :)

I'm still hacking but got some seeds planted and a little sewing done. The leftover Sri Lankan curry dinner did me good. It included prawn curry. I can't see a prawn without thinking of Crystal and Suki.

Glad to hear that both you and Neko are feeling better as the day wears on, vines for continued recovery.
Perhaps an extra quick whizz in the food processor for Neko's raw mix might help her mouth issues.

Thanks for thinking of us :bighug: there is now a prawn shortage in France.

Wendy...apologies for "liking" your crappy Saturday. I failed to highlight the part that was liked...thinking of Suki and Crystal.

Glad to hear you are over hump with that nasty cold...hoping Neko has solarium time and quiet eating as well today. :cat:
