I'm sure he'll find and eat the snacks you've left out. I've been in a similar position quite a few times, and always worried Noogi won't find his snacks and every single time he has done so.

Shaving his dose can’t hurt, they say you won’t see the effects of a decrease until after +6, so I try to keep that in mind.

Stay steady, Petey! Don't stress mom out too much while she's out.
A small shave can't hurt, especially when you're out for the day and worried. Glad you did what you needed to make sure he's safe today.

Thank you all. Got home earlier than expected and I'm glad I made the decisions I did.

He ate a lot of snacks before I left, including 2tsp HC wet, and got a shaved dose and still stayed pretty flat. Today would have been green, no doubt.
